What makes this thread so much better is the ignore feature. What used to be my favorite are the posters who said how much they hate the show and how bad it sucks but somehow continued to watch every single episode possible and then take the time to post in here about it.

I dont know about you but anytime I disliked a show I stopped watching it.

I think alot of these cry baby posters are lonely housewives with nothing better to do.

I usually like lonely housewives but since I can only read their terrible horse **** posting.......

This season has started out awesome and thats pretty damn good for a show going into their 6th season

Pretty sure the OOT demographic doesn't skew housewife. This is the somewhat common love to hate it phenomenon.

Good start to s6, no complaints.

Any normal non-idiot would at least grab a gun even if they don't know how to use it.

What gets me is they had a pretty good thing at the prison. Strong walls, but they get flushed out because they can't defend their walls. And they have some imperfections they should learn from (like hordes pushing on the walls) FF to season 5 and they're gifted better walls but again don't do anything to protect themselves! Would digging a 10-20' wide 10' deep ditch around Alexandria really be that hard?!? They have construction equipment... Moats have been around for centuries. Take all the fill dug out and put it on the inside of the walls, now you can't just push through it. Also, why not clear out all the trees and brush for like 100 yards past the wall? Sight distance is everything...

Strong ideas, I'd like to join your team in the event of a zombie apocalypse. I guess the only concern is that it would make us a target to other humans, and we would need good numbers to hold it. Maybe add a second moat 100 yards away and then expand another 100 yards out when possible. Lots of barbed wired and awkward **** in between. We can pick them off from our raised lookout points (although these might be too exposed to snipers in the woods?

Obviously it's not the same woman but I made the comparison last season too. I'm glad to see it's not just me.

All great ideas in an actual zombie apocalypse but terrible for a TV drama that needs conflict to be interesting.

i know, it just irks me as a logical person that no one in the show is actually concerned with fortification of anything. not the cars they drive, not their home... but obv if the cast never had interaction with the zombies, it would get pretty boring.

Food for thought: the real life TWD production team experimented with building a moat around the prison and found it too hard because there was too much water underground.

yeah, it really depends on the water table of the location. if i can't go 10+ feet deep, i'm going as deep as possible and putting traps at the bottom. the biggest thing you're looking for is a change of elevation that prevents cars from being driven right into the walls to knock them down or full speed running to the walls, + in this case, hordes of zombies pushing right up on your walls.

but the other thing is they aren't filming in Alexandria, Virginia (which having lived there, i can easily tell you there isnt that much wooded area around), but considering it's right off the Potomac River, the water table will probably be higher.

kinda curious if we're going to see seasons now. VA has winters. legit winters (compared to GA). winter of 2009/10 had 90+" of snowfall. it would be interesting to see what happens to walkers in freezing conditions

PS - there are no quarries anywhere near Alexandria. land is way way way to valuable. if you don't have like 600k, you aren't buying a place there. no one would ever waste that land on a quarry. this is almost as bad as when 24 was in DC and Jack Bauer was driving traffic free through the city and NoVA at like 3pm. yeah, sorry, no, not happening. multiple episodes should have literally been Jack sitting in his car in traffic surrounded by thousands of VA personalized license plates

I think they have implied walkers slow down a lot in winter which would not make for great tv. And given their production cycle films in Georgia Summer's I doubt we ever see it.

It's pretty weird that after so many seasons there has been basically no experimentation with water. Lakes, rivers, oceans, ISLANDS, I don't know. Seems bizarre not to and could easily make for good TV.

Not like this is some small and low budget shot. I think a change in scenery would be much appreciated as the current backdrop is getting really damn old. Go to somewhere in the Caribbean like Cuba or the Bahamas or even the Florida Keys...Please something other than the same damn forest.

exciting episode, but in hindsight, the Wolves don't make any sense. they are smart enough to rig a truck with a Walker to... (???) but their master plan was to walk into town and just hack at peoples limbs? I don't get it.

I assumed the truck had a person driving it, who turned into a walker after getting shot. Which still wouldn't make sense, since it probably got shot in the head.

Last season they rigged that food truck warehouse to get people bit. That was pretty elaborate and smart. Maybe they assumed the town was unarmed and didnt worry about getting shot.

But that doesn't jive with the elaborate trap we saw them set. I suspect this is just the writers being sloppy, and not evidence of a complex wolves society

Or these were shock troops; some the dregs of the wolves cult sent out to prove themselves and probe Alexandria's defenses.

But I do fear it was an over-hyped threat that could be less impressive in direct assault than they are picking off the weak.
