I'm torn.
C) the ****ty writers left it unanswered because it doesn't matter who drove the bus.

Its obvious who drove that bus, the only surivior chick that was left alive after the gov shot everyone down. You remember the one, the one that slams both her hands against a bus window in order to be recognised as a human and not a walker.
Even though her actions would indicate me shooting her with panic the moment she did that.

So you all was mad that Darabont held back on the man in the tank from S1?

How could we be mad, since we didn't know it was supposed to happen until after he was let go from the show? In hindsight, I don't think there's anyone who wouldn't have wanted to see the show how FD intended it. That didn't happen, so we have to move on with what's there, and it's obviously not what he intended, at the very least, from a character development level.

I've always wanted to see more scenes from the intial outbreak, especially from a military perspective. It would have been refreshing and a nice change of pace

Only reason it never happened was b/c AMC is notoriously tight assed with their budget allocations and had most of season 2 confined to a farm in order to save money

Spoiler:
Or as has been said in this thread, because the budget was blown making that scene, and it never got aired except in tiny fragments I think in the season 2 finale.

I think LFS (can't remember if that's his name for sure, but pretty sure that's it) was the first person to post it maybe in the season 2 thread. What he said jibes with knowledge I have from elsewhere. That's as much as I'm willing to say.

I don't think they ever got to shoot the episode and "blow their budget on it" like you suggest

http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/01/09/fr...season-2-plan/

Here is the article italking about Darabon'ts plans for season 2 by James Hibberd of Entertainment Weekly

Since the plans were rejected by AMC, it's safe to say that the scenes were never actually shot

Really makes you think what could of been though

No, my understanding is that some of the Witwer stuff was shot.
Spoiler:
My understanding is that FD was hoping to blow away AMC with the content of the scene he described, and he shot some of it in hopes they would expand the budget for season 2 (spending a tremendous or at least significant amount of the budget for the season on it). It backfired as AMC didn't increase the budget, and they were stuck on the farm for the whole season. Some of the content shot ended up in the season 2 finale when they showed the Atlanta explosions, if I'm not mistaken.

Made an edit, because I was sketchy on remembering the details of what was planned.

Spoiler:
Andrea sitting there just wasting time talking was stupid. It's like, either focus on the tool or multi-task and do both. Instead, we have Milton sacrificing his own life for Andrea, and Andrea repays him by wasting her time getting free and then getting bit. I bet Milton was sitting there dying thinking, "I should have just stabbed this dumb ***** in the chest."

Another problem with this ending is, we spent SOOO much time this season following the stories of Milton and Andrea, and for what? What did they even do that affected anything? In the end, what was the point of it all? Watching Andrea this whole season was pretty much pointless now. She had no influence on any outcome of the show. You could have killed her at the end of last season and you could have had this season play out just the same only you'd have more time for other story-lines. You know, they could of had Tyrese save her and use Andrea to sort of tie everyone together. Instead we followed Andrea for an entire season so that we could have some random chick from Woodbury be the one that ties the Rick and Tyrese story-lines together.

It's better, sure, but it's still a huge disappointment. The actors aren't good enough to pull off campy humor without making the show feel like it's first level campy. They certainly can't pull off emotional scenes. And they all are trying to emulate their silver screen counterparts, who were far better actors, so their performances feel forced and unnatural.

I could have sworn that I read that the original concept, or one of the original concepts was to have it be almost completely episodic, with reoccuring rolls having only small spots. The meat of the show was going to be "Zombie Kill of the Week!!", which would have been ****ing glorious. Not only would it have been glorious, but it after the movie was made, it would have alleviated the issue of recasting the lead rolls. They really drop the ball here.

However, Alpha House (another Amazon Original pilot, which is currently free to view like the rest) is insanely good. John Goodman, comedy, enough said. I know I said, 'nuff siad, but the rest of the cast is awesome too.

Those Who Can't is my next watch. Looks to be a good dose of slapstick and shock value humor.

So, yeah, someone should probably start a Amazon Originals Pilot Season thread, no?

Most people will know what The Walking Dead is in 10 years. In 15 years, maybe not, and in 20 probably not.

Comic readers

Spoiler:
I just got introduced to "jesus." I like his addition the comic was in dire need of a new interesting charachter. I haven't read chapter 17 and 18 so I am not sure if Negan has been officially introduced but I am hoping for a pretty bloody battle between Rick's group and his. I also get the feeling the comic is winding down.

Kinda bugged me that Milton didn't even try to help Andrea. Dude's legs should have been fine. You're going to die anyway, why not at least give it a shot. He seemed to linger forever.. he couldn't have slowly crawled over or somehow used his last strength to walk and grab the tool?

Ha, I didn't even think of this. He stayed alive for like 10 minutes of screen time, which has to represent in the ballpark of 30 minutes show time.

Man... this show and its contrivances.

silly bitch spent a whole episode trying to pick up wire cutters with her feet, pausing occasionally to chat to the guy who was about to turn into a zombie and eat her face. She deserved to die imo
