Re: The Walking Dead Season 2 (Premieres Sunday 10/16 at 9PM ET on AMC)
the "gun pay off" was a pretty lame pay off. It seriously seemed like the writers realized they completely missed that, and so they felt they needed to patronize the "nits." I mean, Daryl's line makes sense on the surface, but for it to actually make sense, we need Dale to have down syndrome. Because Dale wasn't willfully fooling himself into believing Shane's story-- Dale was actively campaigning against Shane and if the only people who didn't notice the gun thing were those who were living in a fantasy land, then Dale obv should have been like "yo, I have a feeling that Shane killed Otis in cold blood-- but f*** all that noise, aside from my feeling, I also have hard evidence. Grimes' gun. BOOYAH."
Also it was a complete cop out, since the only person Daryl revealed his common-sense-which-should-not-require-a-revelation to was a character who is now dead. But, again, I'll give the benefit of doubt to the writers, as they may just be doing their best to tie up crappy story arcs and reveals that were a mistake in the first place.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they realized their monumental f-up in Dickerson's episode, and then decided they had to do a real "lazy" writing pay off to it. It made sense, though, because it was set up so well in the initial play out of the Rick handing the gun to Otis scene that someone should have noticed it...everyone should have noticed it.

Re: The Walking Dead Season 2 (Premieres Sunday 10/16 at 9PM ET on AMC)
So because I clearly have nothing better to do, I went back to the times we've seen the corpses people are all, "wait, they weren't zombies and it looks like they died of natural causes, so dying of natural causes can't cause you to come back as a zombie!"
And I screencapped the corpses (again, nothing better to do) that we get a clear look at.

(this one looks weak, but her hair is matted with what appears to be blood...)

This guy is so decayed that you can't see any blood, but I think there's a cavity in his temple?
The corpse Daryl uses to cover himself in this ep, though, has no obvious head trauma, and there are obviously corpses I didn't get a good enough look at.
So, idk, it doesn't seem like there's as huge an overlook from the writers as I was originally thinking.

Yeah the dead people in cars was definitely one of the biggest wtf moments given the premise of everything, why would people just sit inside their cars and patiently die, and then if that was the case why didn't they reanimate.
Them having gunshots makes it slightly less retarded but still kinda retarded, for that to make sense they still would have had to die in their cars, then turn into zombies, and then someone shoot them while they were in their cars.... also zombies wouldn't stay trapped in cars, they've been shown smashing through windows a lot, eventually they'd get out, etc.
So the bodies in cars thing was still kinda stupid, more just for cool/scary visuals than coherent with the plot.

Who says they were trapped. Weve already had zombies chilling on buses and praying in church, why cant they listen to their car radio?

Yeah, I mean, obviously they were just doing it because it would be cool. One or two zombies in their cars would be fine, but there were quite a lot of them. I was just bored earlier and wondering if I could see any head trauma.
Though, in the comics, they have lurkers and roamers (I think). Some of the zombies get up and walk around looking for food stuffs, and some of the zombies are content to lay/sit down where ever they are and wait for food to amble by (the zombie in the tank comes to mind).

The real gaffe about Daryl mentioning the gun to Dale was that neither of them were even on the farm when Rick gave Otis the gun, or when Shane came back. It should have been Rick or Hershel who noticed it. Daryl alluding to it like it was common knowledge among the whole group is just super lazy, but par for the course with this show.

Re: The Walking Dead Season 2 (Premieres Sunday 10/16 at 9PM ET on AMC)
I think I have an idea for how the zombie virus in the Walking Dead universe works that makes sense.
The virus is airborne and basically infected everyone almost immediately after the outbreak in TWD universe. Once infected, the virus lies dormant in a similar manner to HIV (not exactly sure how this works tbh). The person is infected, but the zombie symptoms don't always appear immediately. When they do the host either dies immediately (explaining the people in the car) or turns them into walkers.
This would mean everyone on the show is infected and the virus could flare up for them at any moment. This is what the CDC guy knew and told Rick. Rick apparently thinks this will destroy all hope if he tells the others so he has kept it to himself. This also explains the dead cops with no marks on them that Rick brushed off.
This might also explain why the people on the show don't seem to catch the virus from handling zombie parts and basically drinking zombie blood. It doesn't, however, explain why biting turns people into walkers. I suppose this biting could do something that immediately activates the zombie symptoms? I'm not sure.

Re: The Walking Dead Season 2 (Premieres Sunday 10/16 at 9PM ET on AMC)
I think Token-Dog actually is my favorite character. If they gave him lines they'd just be ****ty anyway. He doesn't complain or get all weird and philosophical, doesn't have a daleface. What was his last line? Everyone's talking about whether to shoot the kid and he's talking about what to do with the body already.
The deer and the zombie from the last episode are pretty close but we'll (probably) never see them again.

seriously how does a show get away with such blatant stereotyping in this day and age. it's not like it's a problem, it's just that people are usually aware of it enough to keep it from happeing
the only black guy is called t-dawg? jesus christ...

Re: The Walking Dead Season 2 (Premieres Sunday 10/16 at 9PM ET on AMC)
The funny part was that they went out of their way to write this guy in, he wasn't in the comic. Other that a brief stint as a target for Merle's racism he's just been a true token black dude.
Not sure why that was needed, there are numerous (and more significant) black characters in the comics. One missed his entry already and another is expected. Unless T-Dawg is supposed to be Tyreese which seems unlikely. #datsaightdoh
