Easily the best episode since the series premiere.

The girl who plays Lori is such a horrendous actress.

I think Rick's wife was on Mtv's The Challenge Rivals (Lori Laurel).
(I'm too lazy to post pics)

Boy, some of those walkers got feet huh?! I think a few would give the fat guy a run for his flesh. He'd make a great sacrifice jic.

probably the worst attempt at a black stereotype ever.
**** love him though, he's a pretty awesome guy.
if the writers really wanted to go for it, they'd have left him with the "ese's" in the nursing home.

Glenn just wont die imo, thing is him and T-Dog get the least coverage excl. that dumb short haired lady, yet they are my favourite characters.

Also the mother freaking out because dudes a vet is annoying but very believable. She just learned the live of her child is in the hands of an animal doctor. Most women are stupid and would act exactly the same.
That would be fine if that was played as her being a hysterical concerned mother, but instead it was played as like some sort of HUDGE DRAMATIC REVEAL and like Rick faints after hearing it. I honestly think the audience was supposed to be on the same "OMG Carl gonna be ok! Wait, he's ONLY a vet? OH NOES" page as Rick and Lori.

Show is worth it for the lols, thanks to this thread.

Lori being passive aggressive to the people trying to save her son was pretty funny in a ******ed way. I noticed that at least twice in the episode, the characters point out how ******ed people are being. It felt like it was an entirely different writer who was kind of talking to us like, "yeah i'm gonna try to clean this up."

The rednecks speech about praying being ******ed ended with him saying "am I the only sane person here?" was good. He's pretty much the only person who has consistently acted rational in a survival sense.

Then when T-Dog came up with his completely idiotic idea that he'd be lynched, it was like something that would normally be a great idea on this show but the old guy was like cmonson.

The blonde is still really annoying and stupid and I hope she dies.

T-Dog's condition is worsening. He's talking solely in horror movie cliches: "I'm the one black guy of the group. You know it's not looking good for me."

Best line from the blonde woman: "If the girl got back here and we were gone... that would be AWFUL."

"You gotta stay, he needs your blood."
"My wife needs to know. Why do I have to stay?"
"Well there's the blood issue... OK Let's pretend there was no blood issue. Here are the emotion-based reasons."

Agree with the video game comparison. Next few eps: Shane and Otis discover an underground service exit from the school, but it's powered down. They'll have to locate and activate three power switches scattered around the buliding. But one of the doors is locked. The janitor carries the only key, and he's a powerful zombie. Boss fight!

Boss fight for last switch one time! Fat guy ain't gonna make it imo. He held Rick's fine weapon.

This show is and should be treated as a comedy which consistenly brings the LULZ every week

I think everyone else should stop pandering to their unfulfilled expectations, lighten up a little bit, and learn to enjoy this show for what it is

Come on br0s

I can't be the only one here that is legitimately laughing out loud several times each episode can I???

This show is unintentionally hilarious

I can't wait to get home and make gifs of that blonde's interaction with the 1 random wandering zombie and of Shane's and Otis's shenanigans with the zombies at the high school. Don't forget that random zombie in the FEMA jacket too, LULZ

God, I still laugh when I think back to that scene with the emo blonde

They're all walking in a group 1 moment and 3 seconds later, BAM, the emo blonde is like 100 feet away from the rest of the group and somehow is stupid and unobservant enough to have a zombie sneak up on her in open space

Cue her screams and everyone else's slow motion sprint to her, only to have a woman on a f*cking horse literally materialize from thin air and bludgeon the zombie in the head with a bat

Just pure comedic gold

The writers should get some sort of prize

The one weirdness I'd have with it is exactly the opposite of the other guy's complaints. It is set in the African wilderness for the most part, why are there so many zombies just shuffling around? Shouldn't they be like, near where they lived? Or near other people that they want to eat?
Good points Fly

Anyone else watch "The Dead" that wants to discuss it too. I reccomend it as well

Like you said, aside from the poor acting, it was definitely a good zombie movie, given its budget limitations

I just have so many funny nitpickings with the movie

Country side infested with zombies and we've been up for over 2 days?
=Brb putting up some string around the perimeter and passing out in front of the bright fire

Zombies moving really, really super slow?
=Brb gettting sneaked up on and almost bitten in open space multiple times

etc., etc.,

good times

I'm making gifs of this episode when I get back home from work around ~6PM ET

Let me know if any of you guys have any gif or avatar requests. I will be happy to accomodate any requests

I think we can have some fun with this show if we all lighten up and learn to enjoy it for what it really is:

An unintentional comedy with zombies

Heck, I root for most of the characters to get eaten every episode. That's how much I care about the characters. All the irrational actions by the characters each episode only adds to the comedy and further brings the LULZ

that's why they;re your favorite characters, im sure if we saw them more we'd hate them just as much as the rest of em.

its pretty sad that I though T-Dog was the best actor last night. well maybe im not giving the guy credit, but he's not the character i expect good acting from.

After watching the hook ending of the premiere episode of The Walking Dead, my first thought was, “Oh sh*t , Dick Cheney just shot that little boy!” All jokes aside, the ending was magnificent and practically guaranteed that you’d be tuning in next week to see what happens. The second episode opens with a flashback of Shane breaking the news to Lori that Rick was shot then we shift to Rick rushing Carl to Hershel's Farm to try and save his son from dying. Fans who follow the Robert Kirkman graphic novel know that this is a very important location but I won’t spoil that here. What I will say about the farm is that it's discovery and the new group of survivors introduced will be the most important aspect of Season 2.

Diving back into the episode, the first 30 minutes focuses on what’s happening on the farm and Carl being shot with a secondary focus on Daryl and the others continuing the search for little lost Sophia. This episode is light on zombies but delivers excellent dialogue between the characters before gearing up for a zombie-centric closer with Shane and Otis. The flashback of Shane breaking the news to Lori and Carl that Rick had been shot served as a nice juxtaposition to Rick now dealing with Carl suffering from a gun-shot wound.

this is the most baffling part of the show. Almost all the reviews ive read from people with blogs/magazines/actual paying jobs seem to love it, whereas the internet "trolls" seem to be the only ones that call it out for what it is -- a total mess.
