Thoughts on the leaked premiere

I thought it was okay and I like the villains thus far. However there was so much terrible over-expository dialgoue. Like LaGuerta in the car talking to Matthews "This USB key right here says you had sex with prostitutes. Do you understand audience?" Anyways I am probably onboard to casually watch this season and hope it isn't terrible.

I liked the opening ep, though i think the religious angle of this season might piss me off depending where they go with it. Quinn proposing is the suck, but Deb saving everyone in the bar was cool.

Great to see Edward James Olmos back on TV and i thought the guy from The Good Guys was decent in that so he should work well. Killing a fruit stand worker with a gladius then stuffing snakes inside him is the kinda stuff i expect to see on Dexter.

Really liked the first episode. Also for those who watch entourage, I thought it was pretty amazing that I actually laughed more during this single episode of Dexter(not a comedy) than all of season 8 of entourage.

Yeah, that was sloppy writing. The reality is if the police got a DNA sample then they would have tested it against the husband and if they didnt it makes no sense how Dexter got something to compare to the sample he took.

I really liked this episode, feels like this season has potential.

I like how Dexter seem to have gotten more emotional with his killings. Before it was always show picture of the people they killed, give them a little speech, collect blood and then knife straight into the heart. This time he smacked the guy in the face with a hammer before using the knife.

I cant recall he having done this stuff in his killings before, but my memory is pretty meh so might be totally off here.

This show has felt like it's been on spin cycle for a few seasons now...I was really pissed that last season ended without any plot developments being carried forward, like Deb finding out or at least coming closer, this season prob going to be more of the same. Repeating the same formula has gotten old, and if this season becomes some long internal monologue about Harrison growing up with religion it's probably going to be terrible.

LOL. This episode was hilarious to me, for how mad it's going to make the Parents Television Council. In terms of overall episode quality, I liked the first few minutes of it but felt the thing went steadily downhill, in terms of what I want to see in a Dexter episode (it had redeeming quality as a comedy, as I mentioned before.)

I mean I haven't seen a greater mockery of religion and Christianity on TV than you see when the football guy gets killed. Spouting all these Biblical verses, then Dexter goes "it's hammer time" and bouncy music comes up the next frame? Wow. Also +1 for babes who want to give random blowjobs at high school reunions.
