i watched "the scariest drug in the world" or something. some date rapey thing. The ending was dumb. The two guys put on face masks and very carefully open the package and then precariously walk over to the bathroom and dump it in the toilet.

I like the show. Will try to watch it all somehow. (time commitment!)

I saw that finale. I liked it. I didn't like Ryan Duffy playing basketball with his stupid tattoos. I also don't get how they could openly film so much stuff while at the same time say that being caught filming would put them in a jail AKA the worst place on earth.

They can film as much as they want in pre-approved locations. They would get in trouble if they tried to covertly film military installations or starving peasants or something.

"I am personally never allowed to go back to the DPRK" is such an incredible line.

am I the only one who thinks these are a bit sensational? not totally fabricated but embellished? I noticed a few weird edits with the DC guy in the office in the afghan episode. And if the chick is really involved in a slave breakout + ensuing police chase isnt that a bad time to end the episode?

Also one of the original co-founders of vice, Gavin mcguiness, was on Adam corollas podcast this week and said he wrote fake articles. Specifically, he said he couldn't find a capable black female writer so he assumed that identity.

He's not with vice anymore, but some of the ppl who allowed that to happen are.

Yeah I agree wild will, the Greenland one had me freaking out. Ice sheet (at this one spot) melting at ~ 30ft/yr, global warming projections (since 2006) way over worst case scenario, a boatload of major coastal cities being underwater if the sea level rises x amount of feet (24 maybe?). And that this is all pretty much irreversible and we can at best slow it down. And no recommendations for what the average person can do. Then at the end we find out the sea level will rise 4ft/100 years given current projections. That's still bad and will cause a lot of environmental + economic damage, but it's no where near as grim as the earlier 20 minutes made me believe. And instead of making me feel I actually need to take some action, I was rather hopeful that humans will solve this problem given the amount of time we have an how we are doing much better than I thought 5 minutes prior.

Yeah sea level rise is more manageable than you would think in most places, just ask the Dutch.

That being the said the worst effects of global climate change is the change part. Switching large parts of the world to desert or vice-verse is terribly disruptive. And obviously if something drastic like ocean currents shifting would be way worse.

Sensationalism smationalism, well done and thought provoking news stories are almost non-existent in the mainstream media. If this was CNN they would have had a split screen about two people arguing over whether global warming existed or not.

Go Vice!

Agreed, when you have people that are so in denial about climate change, subtle is not going to accomplish anything.

They have people who connect them. They are never on camera but usually there's one or more guys with their crew from that specific area at all times who basically keep them alive and help them with everything.

And what does pass for accuracy and journalistic integrity for you?

Here's a basic human flaw:

When someone tells you something that contradicts a previous belief, your natural instinct is to reject it.

Do you think this might apply to you?
