Seinfeld and JLD is on both.

Liked the episode a lot, but didn't quite see it as a huge step up. Just another par for the course super solid episode.

I love this show but I dislike a lot of the characters. I hate Selina and Buster and the daughter/spouse, and ex-husband. Jonah is the nuts though and every scene he is in is elite. Really like Kevin Dunns character too (****in millennials are too lazy to learn how to drive drunk) and the bully congressman and his aide. The rest of the tertiary characters are pretty good but the main ones suck in my opinion.

Hate Selina and buster....
I ll try to have an even more unpopular statement : Seinfeld is super overrated

It is true that Selina is incredibly unlikable....that is one of the main problems with it...although, I'm sure some would say that's part of what makes it great.

selina is a nightmare, but makes for great tv. just like curb your enthusiasm, larry david is awful, but hilarious. i know a guy in real life who is just like larry david, and the guy is unbearable. but he's hilarious to watch if you don't have to deal with him.

seinfeld is flat out awful. the music alone is painfully bad. and talk about an unlikable main character... jerry is the nut low.

But I like Larry...I don't like Selina at all

Larry was smart...and his reasoning usually made sense in some way. Selina is just an idiot...she's an empty suit.

i thought i liked larry until i realized "holy ****, he's just like xxx!" then i realized what a nightmare he would be in real life.

true larry is smart, and he's hilarious too. he's got that going for him.

selina is more than just an idiot though. she is hilarious. her insults are top notch. and her narcissism and greed are so extreme it's fun to watch.

it's like with any great villain, they are awful people, but compelling. most of the characters on the show are truly terrible people.

i mean i can understand not liking to watch her. i just love watching her myself.

Larry is likeable, I can empathise with his decisions. Selina isn't likeable and I don't find her believable as a VPOTUS/POTUS although I have revised that opinion in the past few months (The Thick Of It/In The Loop/Yes Minister do better jobs of creating believable politicians).

That's the thing for me though. I just don't find Selina fun to watch and don't find her all that hilarious especially when compared to the rest of the cast. For me her (and Buster) are just too over the top annoying while the other characters are also over the top but enjoyable. The show is brilliantly written but she is all awkward situations and I guess I don't enjoy those as much.

when selina's daughter needs help and needs her mom, but selina doesn't give one **** about anything but herself, that's hilarious imo. or when selina treats gary(and everyone else) like total ****, that's hilarious too imo.

and part of the pleasure for me(as an actor) is watching just how brilliant JLD is. the way she plays the vapid avarice so hilariously.

but i do get what you're saying. it's just different tastes. i hate senfield. i know a lot of people love that show.

it is curious though if you hate selina but love that other ahole politician who just brutally insults everyone. or if you like dan, who is just as selfish as selina. or if you like the guy who sexually harrassed jonah

Is it me, or has the daughter gotten hotter?

I was gonna make a crack about her being young, but she's apparently 29. And she's Kiefer Sutherland's daughter. I wish he were my dad.

EDIT:

The Larry David talk had me wondering just how great he'd be as a guest character. I want to see something utterly ridiculous like a General that's been with the Pentagon forever, but maybe a silly Senator is closer to his wheelhouse.

RBK,

Archer is in the running, IMO. It's on the same level, and similarly stands out for it's consistency. It also gets extra points for the the creator writing almost every episode himself, which is Aaron Sorkin level crazy.

ya archer is amazing as is rick and morty, bobs burgers, IASIP, AD and curb.

I probably shouldn't have even brought up any kindv ranking as ironically I find the whole ranking obsession pointless and silly.

I was just so caught up in how ****ing brilliant the show is and it came out like that.

Archer is elite...South Park, Beavis and Butthead, Bob's Burgers...all are great. R&M is right up there.

while i'm liking all the quick dialogue jokes - i'm still kind of eh on what's going on. like, i wish i knew where the story was going to be 2 years from now. i'm not sure there's a lot of content in being former potus. and if she's somehow throwing her hat back in the ring in order to get the gang back together - again, this is one of those times where i'd actually appreciate being super spoilered about the season finale next season - that way i could easier just appreciate the journey.

Yeah if only I knew where the story would be in two years, then I could really enjoy it

I know what happens 5 years a go, but two years from now is still a blur.

I got turned onto this a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed it.

I wonder how "close to home" it is for people who have been in an administration. Is it, "Yeah, that's pretty much how things go down there."?

For example, no president would have such a complete idiot being their press secretary...

Well that was a great episode. Mike and Gary both accidentally voting in another country's election, Jonah and Richard going to a Nazi concert, Ben, working both sides as usual, and Stephen Fry looking grotesque were all awesome.

But my favorite was Mina and Selina together. they should do a spin-off where it's just those two traveling around the world together. Sally Phillips is fantastic.
