Probably wishful thinking knowing Lynch, but at least from the perspective of what a normal narrative would be the slow B/W dissolve on his contented face after he got laid (and fade in to the trees at night) seems like the end of the Dougie-Coop chapter, or at least a sign things are finally about to change.

Coop not back until the finale imo. If then.

Excellent episode (or part of the 18 hour movie!).

I think even the more skeptical among fans will find this one easy to love (that seems to be the vibe also). 3 and 8 are my favorite parts so far but this was very effective also.

I've never disliked Dougie at all but his arc here was simply great.

Then the Twin Peaks scenes were just a pure Lynch rollercoaster. I was breathless throughout. Shelly on the car! Her daughter going berserk!

And then there was Gersten Hayward! Which I didn't realize was her until afterwards. On a related note where I'm probably the only person in the world, but when rewatching the series the last time I found Harriet Hayward weirdly off and fascinating (she only ever appearrs in Lynch episodes which helps I suspect). Who cares about seeing Audrey or Donna again?! I wanna know about Harriet, her poems and seeings! I doubt it will happen but here was Gersten at least. Not how you might expect, that is for sure.

Loved the kid that shot at the Double R.

The whole absurd sequence with the honking and what follows. The Twin Peaks police dept getting bombarded by calls (119! 119!)

At this point I adore Candie. Her, Dougie with more Dale mannerisms + cherry pie, the mob brothers, Ms Jackpots and Badalementi magic on the piano was fantastic. Viva Las Vegas.

The Lodge opening thing that Gordon Cole (on yet another Sycamore street of course) looked up into also seemed almost blue rosey in its imagery.

Opening scene with the boy seeing the still alive Miriam(?) perhaps even the best scene of a great bunch, the way it was shot and build (also with reckless driving in mind).

The way the boy looked at her instantly made me think of Jeffrey seeing Dorothy stumbling naked and wounded down the street in Blue Velvet. Lynch himself has told a story of a similar experience that he had as a boy and how nothing was the same after that.

Apart from Mr. C, Part 11 had almost everything.

for some idiotic reason I watched GOT instead of TP last night. Maybe I was exhausted and didn't want to waste a TP viewing. Either way, I'm bummed now that I have to wait until tonight to see it.

Great ep, that sequence felt very Blue Velvet-esque to me too. Show is finally back on track after a couple of filler eps, imo.

Kinda crazy there's only 7 eps to go. Time sure has gone by fast watching this, but no idea what storylines (if any) they'll manage to actually resolve in 7 episodes, or if we'll ever see the actual Cooper again. Doesn't matter all that much though, it's been a great ride regardless.

Has there been any talk of more episodes past these 18?

Twin Peaks’ Season 3, Episode 11: "There’s No Backup for This!"

Great episode after a quiet previous episode. I'm drinking a lot more coffee ("Ah, man that hits the spot. Nothing like a great cup of black coffee") and would love a "damn good" piece of cherry pie.

She's obviously seen Woodsmen before. Makes you wonder if she is actually a DoppleDiane working with Mr. C.

I know Lynch intentionally slows things way down so when a twist happens it's cinema magic (like Naomi Watts' audition scene in Mullholland) but I still think the show is disappointing. Part of the original magic of twin peaks was Cooper and now it seems like an absent protagonist with the supporting cast running the show.

I'll concede there may be some big payoff coming but if this is rewatchable it will be skipping the first 10-15 episodes to get to something relevant.

I lol'd way too hard at the Dougie baseball scene. You knew exactly what was coming the second the scene started, yet the payoff was still hilarious. David Lynch is a comedic genius, who knew?

Only 6 eps to go, I have no idea how they are going to finish all of these storylines. So many people, nothing is even remotely close to being resolved, so little time. I too have been wondering if there's a second series coming up or something -- given how many cast members have died and the fact that I doubt Lynch is interested in doing serialized television beyond this one season would suggest otherwise, but seriously how are they going to wrap this up in 6 episodes? Especially given the main character of the show (kind of) has yet to even appear.

The scene where Gordon says "I worry about you, Albert" was so sad. I miss Miguel Ferrer.

Also, AUDREY

Is Audrey's missing Billy the guy who had the truck after Richard and who Andy was supposed to meet?

Otherwise, we had Audrey and a new character discussing three other characters we had never heard of before, followed at the end of the show by three new characters we had never heard of discussing three other new characters we had never heard of. It's as if those scenes were just showing us what was going on today on "Invitation to Love".

Way past time Dougie/Coop had his "cheddar on a plate" moment [let's see who gets that reference].

In before people complain about the length of the French woman scene after watching hours of dougie gump.

That being said, I liked this episode, even the cheesy let's rock Diane line which made it look like she was about to finger bang someone.

Here's what I could see happening which could make it all worth it. The FBI sends evil coop back in the finale and Albert dies saving coop. The survivors reunite with a fully coherent coop leading to s4. Armed with coop's lodge knowledge, they close access to our "dimension" and no more skinny telletubbies can make it through

Complain? I could have watched that sexy French lady do her thing for the full hour! So could Lynch. For him, the main plot is just a mechanism to show interesting characters and unusual events in artistic ways.

I agree and the follow up with Albert made me lol even though we've seen that dynamic between them repeatedly, it was made funnier because of her exit.

I found this episode enjoyable for the first time in several weeks. However, unless another season is planned, what is the point?

Previous part, before last night, was also the first one that I didn't find very enjoyable even when it has grown following contemplating it in the meantime.

It's not rational but the much needed expanding of Audrey that took place this episode made me think of Inland Empire when Grace Zabriskie (who is a woman just down the street or the way, from a house difficult to see from the road) seeks out Laura Dern and starts talking to her.

Not to make sense of everything or anything at all possibly, but I just think it's a "variation" (which is what it is called in the scene) that expands what it could be that we're getting now with Audrey (+ others I guess) and maybe big parts of her arc as a whole:

Quote:
A little boy
went out to play.
When he opened his door...
...he saw...
the world.
As he passed through the doorway...
...he caused, a reflection.
Evil was born
Evil was born,
and followed the boy.
I'm sorry...
what is that?
An old tale.
And a variation:
A little girl...
...went out to play
.
...lost in the marketplace...
...as if half born.
Then, not through the marketplace,
you see that, don't you?
But through the alley
behind the marketplace.
This is the way
to the Palace.
But it isn't something you remember.
Forgetfulness, it happens to us all
.
You can even go really meta with some of the other things talked about and what we've seen from Audrey and her (maybe) husband so far:

Quote:
So...
You have a new role
to play, I hear.
Up for a role
But, I'm afraid,
far from getting it.
No, no, I definitively heard
that you have it.
Oh?
It is an...
Is it an interesting role?
Oh yes, very
Is it about marriage?
Um... perhaps, in some ways...
but... um...
Your husband, he's involved?
And then there is time where not just Audrey but this episode literally seemed to have muddiness and things not linear:

Quote:
Me?... I.. I can't seem to remember if it's
today, two days from now, or yesterday
Highlight for me this episode was of course James. I just could not believe that actually happened. Not sure I've ever been more astounded by something happening in an episode. I guess it doesn't have same meaning if that scene from the original hasn't been somewhere in your conscience (Lynch even claim that it's a key scene in the entire series) but if it has, the shock here (good or bad!) was very rewarding. Unbelievable (which is what this series continue to deliver)!
