i watched teh last 40 minutes of Do No Harm... at times it felt like a parody. such a stupid show. the patient in the episode was pretty ridiculous, the lead actor wasn't convincing enough in either role, and Samm Levine being there just made it all feel wrong. the main chick was nice looking. that's all i can really say
The faucet of lost viewers has finally begun to open for The Following.
Last night, it lost 1.18 million overall viewers (8.92 this week vs. the previous week's 10.10), and .4 off the 3.3 18-49 demo. Everyone always needs to say it, Alcatraz started high, as well, and despite what anyone might say, I think this show is absolutely Alcatraz 2.0 in large story construction. I think the disturbing murders of the week that get at the former FBI agent are going to get old pretty quickly for today's audience.
2.9 is great for now. It's a solid hit, and it's completely counterprogramming to everything else. There shouldn't be any crossovers for it, and if there are, it should be minimal. The goal with a show should be to make people DVR other shows, not get your show DVR'd. It's done that pretty well. The question is where it stabilizes, which we might not know for another 2 weeks.

I need to type that again so it's real: SMASH crashes on return, debuts to a 1.1 18-49. Finished at 10:30 with a 1.0. #NBC-Ya #PeacockCrisis
I'm starting to wonder if that 1.1 is real. That doesn't really make a lot of sense for 4.4 million viewers, but if it is real, it's hilarious. If it isn't real, maybe NBC should call for an audit after the last few weeks of Go On's massive ratings crash.
Smashs last 2 episodes got a 1.8 rating out of a 3.8 Voice and a 3.7 AGT lead in, it makes sense that it would drop now that it only had a 1.5 lead in.
Not really, to me, the overall viewer numbers are more similar to a 1.3 or 1.4, at the very least. I would believe any numbers like what I wrote, but the 1.1 is outlandish, and it's not like the show wasn't promoted. If real, it's a huge disaster, and says more about Betty White than the shows that follow. What it says, I have no idea.
I haven't watched it yet so I don't know exactly how different (/worse) it is without Harmon but I highly doubt it will hold, there will no doubt be some fans who decide that the 'new' Community isn't for them and stop watching. And of course they may have only got that 1.8 because a) it's a premiere and b) people want to see what it's like with Harmon.
I don't think it will hold. Whether or not it will get renewed, is anybody's guess though.
Edit: That said it could be that the minority that actually care about Harmon leaving is actually pretty small or they're the sort of die hard fans who will watch anyway. A 1.8 for a spring premiere is definitely higher than I would've guessed at any rate.

Roo, considering Smash's second season premiered at a 1.2, against much less formidable competition, the 1.8 against TBBT is huge.
Scandal has had a ton of big things happen this season, so it's really no surprise. It's also doing really excellent in the DVR ratings. Last night's episode was supposed to focus more on the election rigging storyline, so more viewers probably wanted to see that live.
