I've had many problems with my ears so I know what type of stuff they can use, if the bug was just in her ear canal it is super easy to get out. Would literally take 10 seconds.

You can kind of assume you're not in any real danger because if you were they'd give you the choice or just pull you out of the game. So I don't think a bug crawling around in your ear can cause serious damage. I agree that if there is a chance of serious damage that it's stupid that they just didn't send someone to help her.

I've always contended that Survivor has a short list of people that they want to win each season. They cast people like Debbie because it makes it easier for the people they want to win. It's a way for them to try and manipulate the game without directly seeming like they are manipulating the game.

I should write something up about this as I think there are lots of examples from past seasons. Not sure CBS would like my take on it though.

Because a bunch of game-bots would be boring. We need a spectrum of people to make for interesting dynamics.

So as per usual, New Zealand is copying Australia and is finally doing their own version of the show. Can't see how it won't be completely terrible with the sort of budgets they have for local shows.

There are lots of fans who don't worry too much about the strategic side of the game and just love the nutcases and big characters. Debbie fits the bill perfectly.

I thought Scot was taking out some competition. Blondie will be way more useful to him. I get a bit of a Chris Daugherty vibe from Kyle/Jason. Happy to sit in Scot's shadow for now, with a plan to move later. Jennifer is cool, but she is cannon fodder. Cyd is too direct.

Supposedly-hot guy is definitely not that hot. He looks like he had one favourite exercise at the gym and forgot to do the rest. His face does look better with a beard on.

I thought the Beauty girls would do well to pick up Tai, but they ran back to safety pretty quickly. Maybe Caleb will be a good substitute. I hated Julia saying that she is used to people underestimating her. Being ignoreable is not an advantage when the time comes to get your own way.

Brains tribe: Joe - too old (though I like him otherwise), Debbie - too annoying, Peter - too arrogant, Neal - too erratic, Aubrey - too neurotic. Dunno what to think of Liz.

I think this is probably true to some extend, though less so when it first started (Tina was a replacement and I don't think anyone is putting Vecepia on a winners list). I'd be interested in you writing about it.

Even now there's probably the odd person that really surprises though. I doubt Woo and Rodney made the list their seasons either.

I care mostly about strategy/storytelling but I think Debbie's great (so far, maybe she'll start to wear on me after a while)

Coach always seemed somewhat self aware, (not as aware as he thought he was) but knowing that he was playing a character. Debbie is just a mess.
