I can buy this. But if crazy means deranged, senseless, false mental perceptions, disconnected to reality, then Philip is closer to crazy than Brandon is.

Re: Shawn Hantz. He is the only Hantz I'd like to see on Survivor again.
Great idea for the strategy. Shouldn't be disallowed, as Philip hoisted it up and down when readjusting his grip. Also, Fans' strategy of overloading just 1 guy first was dumb. Need to balance it, to put weight on both and get them both to quit. Their way made it too easy on Philip for the first half of the game, which is part of the reason he lasted the longest.
Because of this, Brandon's gripe about Philip not winning them the challenge is probably correct. To make it obvious, in a hypothetical where Brandon lasts through 100 coconuts, and Philip has none, then Brandon obviously deserves the vast majority of the credit for the win, even if Philip is the last one remaining.
Re: Sean Hantz, also agree that it would be interesting to see him play.

Probably neither, or maybe slightly hurt, in terms of it ever happening. But the main impact is it probably delays it, if it were possible. Have to wait a bit between Hantz seasons. If Brandon weren't on this season, you could have Russell back in the next returning player season (or even both, in a Hantz vs Hantz season, which some would love, and some would hate!). As is, you probably have to wait a couple more returning player seasons before it's even a possibility.
