You talking about SS?
It's not three weeks in a row, it's until we have a winner. eventually people will run out of picks and lose. they basically have to guess exactly who is going out the next week and choose them one week before to have a perfect score.
In case you're not talking about that, disregard everything I said

I think it was three weeks that the picks went home the next week.

oh....i thought you picked someone who wasn't going home...and then you couldn't pick them again. So you're trying to pick the person who goes home??
Survivor Cagayan - S28 - Brains vs. Beauty vs Brawn Quote

No, you were correct initially. You simply have to pick someone that doesn't go home that week. The idea is though to pick someone that is at risk at going home soon but not THIS week, such that you still have available people to pick in episodes 10 and 11 for example.

Swag was copping attention because he had a perfect game going, that is, he picked the person that went home the FOLLOWING week three weeks in a row. Others might've picked a person or two that were looking to be safe for a while.

That video was great. The "nice hair" comment was hysterical.

I really enjoyed the Hatch podcast, but I was stuck in traffic so the rambling by Hatch was fine for me. Really interesting allegation on the cheating in Season 1. I hadn't heard that story before. Anyone know any more about it?

Also watched the TV Guide network preview, and there were some revelations about twists that I'll put my thoughts on in Spoiler tags in case someone doesn't want to hear about them:

Spoiler:
Hate, hate, hate the return of the super-idol. Not sure why they think that's needed in addition to regular idols. So bad and I see no upside whatsoever. Makes it way too likely for someone playing well to get screwed and will certainly make players even more flip-shy.

Liked the Week 1 twist with teams being forced to pick captains and the captains then forced to pick the weakest player, who is then allowed to decide whether they want an idol clue, or double rice for the whole tribe. Will be real interesting to see how that plays out. I'm betting most go for the rice. What do you guys think is the proper move there?

Can you or someone tell me what a super idol does? Only started watching like 4-5 seasons ago and don't think I seen this.

LOL what Probst said about Spencer(s).

Bryce beautiful on the inside.

I may have rushed to judgement on Jeremiah not being that appealing. Who knew swooping his hair off his forehead would make that much difference? Those modeling shots...mmmmm.

edit: Also, he should smile less.

Spoiler:
It's only featured once, in cook islands where Yul used it to overturn a majority and cruise to a win. Then CBS realized it was lolstrong and changed how the idol worked. Its an idol that can be played after votes are read.

I think this topic is covered to some degree in one of the Historians' podcasts, on either episode 1 or 2. They obviously don't claim to have better knowledge than anyone who was on the island, but from triangulating rumors and interviews at the time, the prevailing consensus seems/seemed to have been that Kelly W was given some help...

Spoiler:
...possibly in exchange for sexual favors!

Edit: it occurred to me that you're referring to the unaired hold-lots-of-weight challenge; in that case, my post doesn't really address your question, except to say that there might have been other cheating.

Spoiler:
it was featured TWICE. S13 was the second time. It was the same idol as in S12. I guess Terry didnt get the memo that that "god mode idol" automatically makes you the winner of survivor.

Stephen Fishbach often makes astute observations about Jeff Probst's flaws on RHAP, and while I'm not sure exactly what he would say about that cast assessment, one of the weaknesses he has brought up in the past is Jeff's tendency to define every player as a "type" and force storylines (such as last year when he kept bringing up the Aras/Vytas "rivalry" and the idea that the game made them closer). I feel like if I had watched the cast interviews before watching the assessment, I could've predicted with great accuracy who Jeff would like and dislike. He likes the semi-underdog, friendly, tough, not-too-smart, not-too-hot players. If you're on the extreme end of being smart, hot, or weak then Jeff is against you.

I find it contradictory that Probst asks all these incisive questions to the competitors at Tribal Council, and he makes cast assessments where he really digs into what he perceives to be the psychological makeup of the players, but at the end of the day there isn't much rigor or subtlety to the "story" he tells as a host. He always roots for the same types of players, and always pushes the same meta-storylines like the game being life changing or backstabs being a moral quandry.

lol my first impression is that LJ plays for the other team. Just some of his mannerisms and the fact that one of his hobbies is designing give me that vibe.

Are Jeff's assessments made before the contestants even speak to each other? Or are they edited after the season wraps to merely look like predictions?

I haven't seen the TVGuide preview yet, but in the 3-minute preview video, he says, "The game is about to begin!" when talking about Kass, so it was likely filmed 1-3 days before Day 1.

How do they keep you all separated? Do the interviews with Probst/Gordon Holmes/whoever give you any insight into season themes and twists?
