Just looked. Mostly people telling stories about playing poker with gman, wishing him luck and saying that they'll be watching Survivor for the first time in awhile/ever.

My guess is that we will have a few more regs in this thread in future seasons.

gman, I'd be curious to know whether you were aware/read these OOTV Survivor or listened to Dom and Colin's podcast before going on the show? I'd have to imagine that doing so would have been quite beneficial.

Didn't read the survivor threads, but listening to every single D & C podcast. Easily one of the best of my many pregame strategy resources. Those guys are very solid strategists imo.

To be fair to him, he'll need two hours and a quick check of the survivor sucks spoilers to sound smart all season.

Is this season spoiled? And how early last season was Tyson spoiled as the winner?

Also, just some quick snippets from the RHAP Roast for anyone who cares:

• The roast itself was okay, but some roasters were far better than others. Sophie and Rob were the only ones I thought were funny the whole way through, though Mikey B. was solid in certain stretches of his material. The others were decent or worse.
• The afterparty at The Parlor was interesting in that we were pretty much the only people there. I guess Benry might not be the best person to have as your business rep.
• TheGreenMile can contest this if he wants, but I thought Parvati looked about like I expected, which wasn't anything to write home about. Everyone else was smitten with her, so maybe I'm the weird one. I was also not aware that she is dating Fincher.
• Allie Pohevitz was there and blew everyone away looks-wise. I remembered her being hot on the show, but she is absolutely stunning in person.
• One of the BB thread's favorites, Nick Uhas, was in attendance as well. I didn't get to talk to him, but I heard several people say he was acting like a prick. Brook G. (first boot in Vanuatu) was also there, and even in a crowd full of Survivor superfans, I don't think anyone really recognized him.
• Aras was very cool and shot the **** with us about non-Survivor stuff for quite awhile. He seems like an extremely normal, laid-back guy...so much so that it almost surprises me he was ever cast to be on the show (and I mean that in a very pro-Aras way).
• Abi-Maria was drunk enough that I couldn't understand most of what she said. I chatted with her for a minute while we took a picture, and I could barely make any of it out in between the accent and the slurring. She was a lot of fun, though, and she looked pretty damn good in person.

Tyson was spoiled before the season started. Not sure about this year, I like to go and look after the season is over.

I get that returning players tend to talk more (and probably do so to other non-involved Survivors), but I still don't get how these spoilers make it to the fans. I understand that someone like Caleb (totally arbitrary example) talks to the other jurors, realizes Tyson has won, and tells Colton...who tells Chelsea...who tells Leif...who tells Nina Acosta. That makes total sense. I just don't get how that information then gets from Nina to JagoffFan6000. Maybe I'm naive about the whole process, though.

Do we know what seasons have/haven't been spoiled? I'd be interested to go back and look at the tone of the threads in both kinds of seasons. I did this once when someone spoiled me during S26, but by the time it happened (F9 I think), it was clear Cochran was going to win anyway, so that didn't help. I'd be more curious to look back at a season like South Pacific where Sophie didn't really get a huge edit and wasn't the predictable winner, even at the start of the finale.

There's the whole production crew that knows the result as well.

Often it's the fans who find that stuff out - in BvW someone saw a few of the pre-jury boots on their trip - or get it from local crew members. When returning players are involved the info spreads around the alumni very quickly and the careless/stupid ones give it away; Skupin was telling people at charity events that he won S25.

There are some *******s out there who put pressure on cast members to give them spoilers, which is what happened for S19/20/21/23 (Hantzes/Brenda).

Based on reading Sucks after each season:

- HvV/Caramoan were fully spoiled almost immediately, as anyone unwise enough to venture into a comments section learned.
- Philippines was spoiled as Skupin and two older women in the finals, but people thought Skupin won (probably because that's what he was saying). Most of the stuff before that was unknown afaik.
- SP was spoiled week-to-week and the F3 was leaked at some point.
- In OW there was a photo of the first five boots on the pre-jury trip, but that was it.
- RI was almost entirely unspoiled.

I'm told nothing is known about S28, thankfully.

Maybe that has something to do with there being no returning cast members this season?

If there are no spoilers, maybe we could run Survivor Survivor after all. I was going to pass on it due to what happened last season
