Gandolfini was great in several films he made after the Sopranos, played very different characters and I didn't find it at all weird.

Maybe Falco I guess, since she was also on Oz for so long beforehand. But other than her?
Michael Imperioli as Stu Unger comes to mind.

other than Falco ... Lorraine Bracco.

obv some in smaller roles than what you mean probably like Joe Pantoliano, Steve Buscemi & Frank Vincent who had good careers before and after the show.

saw Dominic Chianese in Boardwalk Empire but i was like oh snap, it's Junior!. same with Jamie-Lynn Sigler in Entourage. i guess Michael Imperioli is still out there working, Drea de Matteo too probably. Tony Sirico too? think i've seen Vincent Pastore pop up in random things.

but yeah, most of the cast not great professional actors or very identified by their Sopranos character and/or dead.

She also did 7 seasons of Nurse Jackie after the Sopranos.

You guess. 37 cited in IMDB since Sopranos, including recurring roles 5 network series', 2 Cable series (Multiple episodes of Californication, and 1 ep of Girls on HBO) and of course "High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story"

And for DeMatteo, let's just list "Sons of Anarchy", "Desperate Housewives" and the current "Shades of Blue"

falco was in a Fargo tv pilot that I guess never got going from early 2000s. messes with my mind considering that accent.

I don't watch those shows either, but I'm aware he's a pretty sought-after actor. The original posts sounded like people thought the actors in the show were like one-hit wonders.

Yeah. I mean Pastore and Sirico were always typecast bit part guys, but the show gave a few people a good leg up in the business, but not quite the launching pad that was Oz.

To clarify, I did say after Sopranos. I like the Bracco response that someone offered, although in fairness she was playing a civilian, rather than someone related to the mob.

I saw the Stu Ungar movie with Imperioli, and he did a fine job.....as Chrissy playing the two time champ.

Not a subtle observation but on a rewatch since we got HBO for GOT.

S3E1 has to be the worst episode of the series. After the last episode of S2 where they kill Big Pussy and the fever dreams, which was absolutely fantastic, they follow it up with FBI agents that Tony knows trying to plant a wire in his house. Just what, how do you open a season like that.

Well it was a START to a new season lol ...of course last episode of season 2 is amazing ( one of my favorites)

That was Mr Ruggerio's Neighborhood, right? I *love* that episode! The music mash-up of Peter Gunn/Every Breath You Take was worth the price of admission.

(There was a real mob case that was cracked when they bugged some guy named Ruggerio, that's where the title comes from.)

Worst episode, off the top of my head? Carmela dancing with Furio to that awful music.

Quick check shows this was the ep with Adrianna playing tennis. DON'T KNOCK THIS SHOW TO ME!

I've got the ep that's entirely Tony's dream as the worst.

but yeah, i agree that "Mr. Ruggerio's Neighborhood" is fairly wat and also one of the worst

My least favorite episode is probably "In Camelot" where like half of it is scenes between Tony and his father's old mistress. It's just weird and boring and on a recent rewatch it was the only episode in the series where I fast forwarded parts.

The Test Dream is a great episode imo

i can see "In Camelot" being boring, but it's a fairly important episode.

1. think it's the beginning of the Tony-Phil feud.
2. Tony learns a lot of stuff about his father. that, and his response, are pretty meaningful for the series imo.

Hey I didn't say it was bad, just my least favorite I guess. I did belly laugh when Paulie visited Tony in the hospital and Dream Tony was beating on the walls trying to get Paulie to STFU

Didn't mind Camelot as much, though I didn't like the mistress and it appears neither did Hesh (or Tony by the end)
