If I went on the temptation, I easily take the 15k food. Stay as strong as you can individually. As for lying about it to rest of tribe, I think only benefit is so others on temptation may be less likely to take reward. I don't think lying so they don't get mad at you is worthwhile. Who really cares if people are mad at you, and for something like that, its not really a valid reason to be mad.

And I agree with what he said. The machete was worth it and would've been a good purchase, but by not getting it, it makes others more weak more quickly.
the thought process is really mind blowing
a lot of it is just about self delusion, as in people ****ing over others really badly and deceiving themselves into thinking they are justified or fair. but yeah, the strategy is just wtf
if you think you're not gonna make it, then you you have no incentive at all to save money, just spend spend spend.
it's also huge the timing of the temptations. like the cocktail waitress was maybe about to go home, but she got the temptation and was able to stick it out.
and there are some points in the show later where it's pretty crucial
