Thou shall not steal clocks, SUV's, no problem. and that little bit of idiocy was only like the 12th dumbest thing in 40 minutes. How about a scientist deeply morning the pilot (and then later the sweet little girl) literally one minute after finding out that man eating monsters exist. Seriously, is this a bad satire of TWD?

Like if some dude you knew on the death plane told you he couldn't perform because he was feeling sick, your ass would be running away directly to the nearest hospital. Because of how the death plane thing might be catching.

Was the Geek like the weirdest ****ing dude on Earth prior to that so that behavior doesn't alarm her? Because I gotta say, if I started doing **** like that around my house, I'd face a few followup questions.
I said the same thing to my wife. How do you not call the cops or an ambulance after u catch him drinking steak blood. Also how unsanitary is it to leave a steak in the fridge over night not even covered? On a side not doesnt the geek look like he could be related to Steve Buscemi???

this show probably has way too many characters.

also, the female lead is a pretty terrible actress.

still, it's entertaining. i can pretty much predict i won't watch past this season regardless of what happens

Upsetting episode. I think I like this show more than anybody here, but man they're just pounding away at the cheese. This is show is What's Wrong With Hollywood 101: Lazy Tropes, Abundant Cliches, Unnatural Dialogue, and Basic Physics/Technology Problems

That old guy with the CDC director was a huge case of telegraphing way too much. When she looked out the window and said "those poor people" he might as well started fist pumping.

I kinda like the show. I wasn't sure after a few episodes but now I feel stuff is happening. If I can watch TWD I can watch this.

Worst episode so far. I was trying to give it a chance but some of that was just terrible.

Van Jewsing only had 2 minutes of screen time and the Rat man had 0 ?! What were they thinking ?

I really want to like this show but they are making it so hard. Luckily for them there is nothing better to watch atm.

The behavior of the wife of one of the victims has been ludicrous. Really? She decided to feed her neighbor to her husband?

The show is filled with terrible writing, but that takes the cake.

Lol at all the things to nit about you are nitting about the steak? Dude, that's super standard and probably the most ideal way to dethaw a frozen steak---in the fridge.

Personally, I actually liked the episode and will continue watching. I think the rat guy sucks so really didn't care that he wasn't in this episode as others were complaining about.

FWIW, I think this is one of the least bad of the major contrivances, but it should still be an easy fix.

It could have been written like something as simple as the guy marching into the shed to get the dog and the wife trying to stop him. Then she watches in both horror and awe at what her vampire-husband does to him. There are many reasonable ways to spark the arc the writers are going for.

I don't want to harp on this show like TWD just yet (which I have quit watching). It is definitely better, but I am left wondering if these writers know how to close their mouths when they breathe

Seriously? That was the best part of the episode. I was hoping she'd get him in the garage, the obnoxious self-important prick.

terrible writing about the shed-arc, as someone pointed out he coulda walked in there himself or forced himself in there in som manner, however i did like this episode somewhat, i enjoyed them dissecting the body and pulling that stinger=).

Van Jewsing LOL! good nickname there, he rocked, all Sam dialogues where aids though and so was the lead-female character.

MORE RAT MAN! They are surely building him to become the new Van Ratsing

Whoa whoa whoa. People. Cover your steaks when you thaw them. Tupperware, saran wrap, something. Leaving it open to air is bad news.

(nit #3 about that scene: why were they only defrosting one steak? Kind of ****ty of whoever did that, they have 4 family members)

Yep, pretty much this. Like they fleshed out the Geek's wife as a religious weirdo neighbor murdering co-dependency case this episode... why? Is that going somewhere? Spoiler alert: no, it's not.

I can understand some of the larger contrivances, but why on Earth did they have the CDC lady freak out after the pawn shop owner murdered infecteds 2 and 3?

Like 6 hours earlier she watched Stoll's character beat a monster to death with a fire extinguisher and then they burned the body. At the time she didn't know how ****ed up that guy was, and she took that killing in stride, but when the old guy gets out the sword to kill things she knows are literally monsters she has like a panic attack?

This is probably my biggest gripe

Throat Snakes are clearly monsters. Her reaction is getting dangerously close to the TWD "they're just sick" idiocy. It was at that moment that I had my first feeling this show might go down the TWD path

The direction is still top notch though. TWD's direction is abysmal and I think most of its problems stem from that. Good direction alone can keep it from the dumps IMO

That's the thing. I'm having trouble putting my finger on exactly what bothers me so much, but all these random pointless subplots(Rudy's wife has cancer, Corey Stoll is an alcholic ****ty husband/father, the gangster guy has a ****up brother and a fat friend)... THERE ARE VAMPIRE ZOMBIES EATING PEOPLE.

Like, the gangster doesn't know yet, but the audience is well aware that arresting clock thieves is not going to be a law enforcement priority for the NYPD in the near future. So what was the point of that TWO EPISODE LONG ARC?

I assumed it was to get the gangster and pawn shop owner together and then like, they have to team up against vampires and the gangster tells the guy about the box and all that... but no, he just returned the clock. OK? Why? What?

Yeah, this was my biggest issue this episode. I just don't see how someone could respond the way she did. It's not the like people just look sick, they have freaking 5 foot tongues with snappers on the end and the males lose their dicks. She just autopsied an infected human and saw the changes in the body, her reaction would be if the girl was the first to be killed.

While I agree that a thawing steak should be in a sealed container to prevent cross-contamination, the reddish colored liquid that accumulates with stored red meat is not blood. Rather it's a water soluble protein with a red color that permeates from the muscle itself. Most meat is almost completely drained of blood during slaughter. And although a slight amount of actual blood always remains behind, such trivial amounts are not reasonably responsible for said blood-like fluids in packaged steaks. Remember that all meats are about 70% water.

The simple logical observation that only red meats such as venison, beef, veal, and human steaks create such liquid; while "white" meats like chicken, pork, turkey, and rat will never create the red fluid commonly associated with blood due to their lack of muscle pigmentation. This simple fact ought to proof my case. Therefore unless there was a non-kosher slaughter house in that shed before the oddly rational vampire took residence, your case is moot.
