I haven't seen this show in a long time but just saw the opening skit and have no idea what the f that was all about. Guess it would have helped to have watched The Lawrence Welk Show.

I'm not prone to hyperbole... I'll just say that I thought Betty was very, very good. You can tell the whole cast had a genuine love for her.

"Wizard of ASS!" was a great line.

I've done a bit of research and watched a few of her interviews from past and present... this woman is freaking brilliant.

Pretty solid week. Betty White was great in al her skits, and like loosekanen said she's really damn sharp for her age (edit: not just for her age, always has been), and it's impressive how much respect everyone had for her. Love all the old time people stopping in too, NPR sketch was vgood. And on top of that JayZ is pretty damn solid music guest - i didnt know the the dude from alphaville played shows with him, that was good.

oh and Tina Fey is awesome too. so cute.

I thought that was pretty terrible. Betty White stumbling over all her lines and 90 minutes of old people jokes and rehashed sketches.

I really liked it. This should have been the final episode with everyone coming back, Alec i really love in 30 Rock but i cant see him topping this week with some random band ive never even heard of not helping either.

I still think Tina Fey is the best ep of this season but Betty White might be the second best.

I thought it was very good as well. I'm usually critical of episodes that rely on rehashed sketches but I give this episode an exception. It was obviously something different with it being a Mother's Day special and a bunch of old cast members returning.

I disagree with Pudge about Betty White stumbling over her lines. I thought she did better than a lot of the hosts this year and wasn't 100% cue card reliant. At times her projection caused some problems but that's to be expected due to her age. The sound guys could have done a better job helping her with this.

Episode also made me realize how much I miss Maya Rudolph. I hoped a combination of her performance in Away We Go along with a little pull from her husband/partner would have opened some doors for her.

Her line delivery wasnt perfect but it wasnt noticeably bad either. Ive see the cast do worse, let alone the other hosts.

I thought -- and maybe it was just the novelty of Betty White hosting and her being ****ing old as **** -- that this was one of the best episodes I have seen in a long long time.
I don't know but hearing dirty things come out of the elderly is always hilarious.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers? According to wikipedia they have only sold 50 million records.

Alec Baldwin is consistently a solid host. With the amount of hours you log in front of a television I'm kind of surprised you didn't know that already.

Yea, it'll tie him again with Steve Martin for most times hosted (15). He's pretty damn good.

Steve Martin will likely be there Saturday for something. I'm looking forward to it.

The band has had pretty much zero impact here in the UK and i didnt look them up. Just assumed they were some new indy group in the US.

As for Alec Baldwin ive not seen him in anything on TV but 30 Rock (though ive obv seen him in a bunch of films). Before the last season i prob only saw one or two eps of SNL as its not shown over here.

Contrary to the way i seem to post in every TV show thread i dont watch many shows other than the ones posted in this forum (many i saw because i saw they were mentioned in this forum), in fact i dont even own a TV.

Google "Canteen Boy"

I think he's an overrated host in general, but he's certainly had some great moments.

I thought Maya playing as Whitney Houston was absolutely perfect. She's hilarious and should be brought back more often.
