From an interview Miller said he brought up quitting at the final table read for the season. He thought the last episode this season did a good job of ending erlich on the show. It wasn't planned.

Course not, but you build a show kind of as a whole unit. If you think you're leaving, maybe give the writers a two episode window to do something to end a character arc.

I know Miller said he was satisfied with the character arc end after the table read, but what if he wasnt? Does he up and leave and leave the Erlich character in the lurch? Does he demand a rewrite on the finale?

It's inconsiderate, I'm not saying it was against his contract or anything like that, I'm saying it was a ****ty option that he chose.

Unless it is an appropriate ending. Then it's totally fine.

Right, but that's a hell of a presumption to make prior to getting the Final episode script.

No, he decided after reading the final episode script

That's what he's saying. But he probably also said a gazillion times that Office Christmas Party was a really good movie.

Kumail Nanjiani appears poised to blow up with his new movie so it will be interesting to see if it impacts his role moving forward.

you realize you're passing judgement on dude when you have literally zero clue about anything wrt the dynamics of the show or how anything really went down.

don't you feel awfully foolish?

I mean you probably don't but you really should.

Can you imagine if Kramer left Seinfold after season 4? Sure he is a funny guy but would have never found nothing better career wise.

Obviously I don't expect Silicon Valley to ever become as popular as Seinfold (although of current shows it is getting pretty popular and growing) but this show is probably going to be the most popular thing TJ Miller is ever part of. I wish him the best but career-wise I think he is making a mistake.

It's a job. They can write him off and he can leave.
Where is your outrage when they kill a character in Got?

If you see the Jim and Sam interview he said he promised his wife to get more reasonable schedule once he makes it and that he felt bad for not delivering.
Wether you think he is foolish or not it's his life and he owe nothing to anyone. He won't break the show like Adam Scott did when he chose park and rec over party down.
If Richard actor left that would definitely screw everyone. Ehrlich is unnecessary for the show.

Deadpool is already much more popular than Silicon Valley...

And Transformers: Age of Extinction grossed more than Deadpool...

You guys are taking this a bit far, don't you think? All I said was, if he decided to leave the show, that its pretty inconsiderate to the writers to not inform them until after the final script was written.

guys he can think an action is inconsiderate without being immoral/illegal

probably read the script for this season and realized they were completely out of good material

Right but when Miller says "I thought the season finale was a good end to Erlich's character" you should probably watch the season finale before you say he's inconsiderate.

Yeah.. but at least TJ's not giving up anything near as lucrative as Caruso (star of one of the top network shows). That was a dream gig.

Some of y'all do know TJ was in Deadpool right? Lol

It's like an athlete. He had a good season with some breaks that fell on the good side of variance and now he's getting paid. He'll be on the out as fast as he was in. Standard Hollywood once they get tired of licking the same popsicle.
