SV fans,

Oh no, our entire install base is disappearing in three days, all is doomed!

Wait, we can stick a computer at Stanford, the day is saved!

Oh no, computer fell out of the back of the truck, all is doomed!

Oh wait, it got automatically replicated across smart fridges, the day is saved!

Basically, the plot of entire second half of this season was the TV equivalent of a sine wave.

“Are you comfortable with casual racism?” was the only time I really laughed during that episode.

For me, most of the second half of the season was waiting for a couple good Jared one-liners each episode. Almost like watching an episode of 2 Broke Girls.

Fingers crossed for some kind of reboot next season.

It's hilarious to read how TJ killed the Golden goose and how trashy the show became in less than a week at the same time.

all this talk about TJM leaving the show, and did anyone even mention that they wanted to reduce his role and only use him in 3 or 5 of the 10 eps? lol

much ado about nothing

seems like a good time to get out anyway

Not a bad point actually. That finale was atrocious, about as bad as the Vinyl finale before that show went away. Do we even know for sure that there will be a 5th season?

Thought the season was not bad but definitely mediocre finish with an almost unwatchable finale. Veep finale weak too but not close to this bad

At least BBT was able to introduce relevant new characters, evolve the original cast and kept the story moving.

Still enjoy the show and will keep watching.
When Chris Welch passed away they did a phenomenal job in S2 w/ one of the arguably best characters ever out. For now the show has run its course it seems and they hopefully up(ped) their writing... Bighead, Russ Hanneman and Gavin Belson ftw.

chris welch is overated, i bet 4 seasons of his autistic schtick would have been awefull.

His death in the show was hilarious, way more than his onscreen performance.

You mean we would have been full of awe?

He definitely was one of the highlights of season one and deserved the Critics' Choice Awards nomination. I like that the show keeps mentioning him.

How can you sustain momentum after "Thank you Florida." anyways?

Dude was all "thank you Florida" and promptly died, no use going on after that, go out on a high note.

$20 worth hard drives on 3k+ machines is far fetched? what am I missing here

It would be more than 20 dollars as it would be solid state, no way would they put a spinning disk in a fridge.

But they wouldn't put 100 GB drives in the fridge because they don't need drives that big. How could they possibly use that much data?

That was totally the main problem of the final episode, keep arguing guys but you just lost any right to criticize the big bang theory with that kind of exchange.

Apparently when they write shows like Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, Vince Gilligan brings the entire team together and they sit in a room and draw up the major plot line on a whiteboard and use tons of post it notes for the path each character will go on during the season, etc. I had a good laugh imagining they did a similar thing for Silicon Valley but just drew a giant sin wave on a white board then had 2 post it notes for each episode, one for the disaster and one for the save

Are you serious? It's not that a smart fridge couldn't have that, but they don't have a HDD anyway because there's no need for one.

I recently looked at that $5k Samsung Family Hub monster (not to buy it obv.) and think the tech specs said something like 5GB internal memory, expandable to 64GB.

nah, I was genuinely asking, just woke up and felt like I was missing something obvious, like it turned out to be.

eventhough solid state 120Gb are something like $60 today, it prolly wouldn't be worth it on a 3k+ machine that has an entertainment center.
Who needs 30 movies for their kids in a fridge, give'm a pad and they're set for days

In a post-finale interview with THR, creator Mike Judge indicated that this — the new internet thing, the Richard vs. Gavin thing, the Richard going a little Walter White thing — is all setting up what he thinks will be the final two seasons.
Quote:
At the beginning of the season, we started thinking that maybe we shouldn’t have them fail and pivot again to something else. On one hand, I think it’s really fun to watch these guys scramble and fail — but it’s also fun to watch them succeed. At some point, we just thought that we should figure out what they’re going to pivot to, and that really big play would take them to the end of the series. That’s the plan anyway.
And then the blog suggests this:

So there you have it. That’s the official plan. Now, I’m sure there are lots of unqualified yahoos out there with their own crazy and/or bad ideas about what the show can do going forward, but I don’t think…

Wait a second. I’m an unqualified yahoo. And I have crazy/bad ideas. Tons of them. I should get involved here. Hmm. Just give me a second. Let’s go with… Jared and Jian-Yang go on a road trip together.
Put this in one of those Hooli smart cars and I'm in.
