A bit different but try watching the Shark Tank which returns in March.

there are 2 pawn shows not really worth watching, one with some women that is basically a really poorly done pawnstars ripoff, and then the hardcore pawn show which is actually totally different, it's more about poor people from detroit sucking at life and getting ripped off at a pawn shop then the actual products, so, it's kinda funny to watch for a few minutes, but not for the same reason.

Like the post above me said, American Pickers is a pretty good show. Also for some reason if I put on Parking Wars, I can't turn it off. American Restoration is another one, it is a spin off of Pawn Stars(guy who did some of the restorations from Pawn Stars like the Coke Machine).

They have a Canadian version of Dragons Den too that Kevin and Robert from Shark Tank are both on. I know they have tons of clips youtube of it.

Apparently this guy is now suing Brittany Spears this year for violating his copyright so I hope he gets a ton out of her.

Pawn Stars is the only one worth watching, all the other ones strike me as very staged/fake'ish.

The in store hijinks in Pawn Stars is also pretty fake, but whatever the items and negotiations are cool.

Pawn Stars is surprisingly entertaining, I just checked it out on Netflix instant a few weeks ago and burned through like 40 episodes pretty quick. I had seen commercials on it but obviously wrote it off--how can a show about a pawn shop be any good? Alas, it is. Of course, I'm guessing almost everything is staged in a way; people don't just pop into pawn shops selling these interesting historic items and they don't bring in experts to evaluate items. Also, if you think the show isn't scripted you are definitely a fish, but the cast is funny and they play their characters well. Good show.

Storage Wars also pretty good although not nearly as much.

Just watched seven episodes of Pawn Stars this morning to wrap up season 2. Not one of my favorite shows but certainly fine to pass the time. It's very formulaic though and I wouldn't dream of watching it live. Ricks constant chuckle is terrible and Big Hoss and Chumlee are two dumb fat slobs (no offense though! ).

I don't like Pickers. It just is so repetitive. Some old crusty guy has a bunch of rusty motorcycles and oilcans, and they haggle over a few pennies. Then at the end it's always "bought rusted oil can for $25. VALUE: $30!" But the value is not what they sell it for, it probably sits in the store until some other crusty guy buys it.

The one interesting part was the guy who had the underground tunnels full of ****, but that's rare.

American Restorations was only 4 episodes, sort of a pilot, don't know if it's coming back.

Most of these shows suffer form the people being totally unlikable. The two guys in Auction Hunters are terrible and annoy the hell out of me. The daughter on the detroit pawn show seems like she might be the worst human being on the planet.

I've wizzed through all three seasons of Pawn Stars real quick. I think it would be much more enjoyable in smaller doses. But it's definitely watchable.

Those shows blow for sure. You need to have the right 'cast'. American Pickers also sucks as has been noted above.

The wife on Storage Wars is really cute.

I watch pretty much every new episode of pawn stars even though I've been bored of it for about two seasons. Its more scripted then prime time comedy.

there is this HORRID show on TruTV that is an obvious fake show about fighting for storage auctions, I watched 10 minutes or less of it and knew it was fake right away....I forget the name of it.

LOL ya truTV (most ironic name in television history) has the most fake reality shows ever. It's all ridiculously over the top and they get away with it by claiming it's "dramatic recreation of actual events"

It's to reality what Pearl Harbor the movie is.

pawn stars is just worth watching for the actual item discussions. everything outside of that is garbage, though. the scripted 'funny' bits are just stupid (and cory doesn't even have the very minimal acting chops required to pull that off), and the negotiations are so formulaic - customer says how much they want, guy offers exactly half of that, then they go back and forth with fake hemming and hawing, repeat several times per episode. i just download the episodes and can get through a 30-minute episode in about 10 by skipping all that stuff.

hardcore pawn is only for if you enjoy seeing loud angry black people get denied for acting like fools. that really is the entire show.

my problem with american pickers has already been addressed - just haggling over rusty garbage that has no story behind it.

never heard of auction hunters or storage wars, but i caught part of an episode of a new show called 'pawn queens'. it's just....no.

Cash and kari and auction kings are decent too .

Looks like American Restoration is coming back with more episodes.

Heh, so much this. I got my hands on some episodes after learning about the show ITT.

The funniest and most ******ed things to me were when some black broad comes with some item and she needs a certain amount of money. She just goes to the counter and basically elevating her voice states that she wants this amount (usually close to or even more than the original retail price) and she's not going anywhere until she gets it. WTF .

The items are more or less trash and - sorry to say this but - so are the customers. Watching the show is at worst a similar experience to watching Jerry Springer.

Remarkable how different the business is at Pawn Stars shop and in American Jewelry (Hardcore Pawn shop), although both shows are at least partially scripted.
