haven't watched the ep yet, but high-level chess (and chess in general) is all about putting the hours in with books + studying openings and positions.
not that the best guy in the world is the hardest worker necessarily, but you can't get into the top 100 conversation without putting in an ungodly amount of hours, typically from early childhood. you can't just be a smart dude.
anyway, am intrigued to watch this now!
