Yep. Not to be all "The Simpsons did it" but the Simpsons has repeatedly lampooned this specific aspect of the family sitcom.

The Mulan sauce bit was just an unusually clever take on that bit, and the rant Rick gave was just a winking acknowledgement of how clever their bit was.

just finished watching the first two seasons. Loved them all! I especially loved the one where Rick, Morty, and Summer get split into 64 versions of themselves. And Terminator Snuffles. And Mr. MeSpeeks. And just about everything else.

Love they Werner ****ing Herzog do one line. One.
