Bill Maher is making this point Friday night and TRUMP is making this point in a Republican primary debate on Saturday. How bizarre.

Trump being a bigoted mouthbreather doesn't mean he can't sometimes speak the truth. It's unclear quite how much intelligence there was to prevent such an attack, but to outright claim that he kept us safe is nonsense and that talking point needs to die, just like Jeb's entire campaign.

Trying to blame 9/11 on Bush, or Clinton, or any one person is kind of absurd IMO.

9/11 largely came about thanks to decades of the US basically not really taking middle eastern terrorism all that seriously, despite many incidents saying they should. It's not like 9/11 came out of no where, extremist Muslim groups had been bombing various US interests every couple of years like clockwork for along time. US military and intelligence officials largely underestimated just how committed and crazy they were. They were probably a B level concern.

Likewise Bush trying to take credit for no major attacks during his administration after 9/11 is also kinda absurd, since it's not like major terrorist attacks happen all the time anyway. Plus several easily could have happened and didn't thanks to basically luck (like the shoe bomber).

Even thought I know it's coming, the Trump/Orangutan joke still cracks me up every single time.

It was above average for recent times. The first guests have been snoozers lately but Booker nailed it as always. He also killed it on overtime with the callback.

That was a hell of a show last night, one of the best I can remember. Epic New Rules.

Meh. I've always liked him as a panelist. It wasn't his strongest appearance, but I loved his line comparing Jeff to Don Rickles, because I was thinking the same thing!

It's both funny and uncomfortable listening to Republicans come on the show and try to defend Trump like their drunk uncle. Bill might be right about punting. It's almost as if whoever gets in this cycle, the other party may have a slam dunk if they find someone competent in the next four years.

Its 2016 and you still think "extremist Muslims" were the masterminds behind 911...

I have a new sympathy for truthers. You should see the looks I get when defending Tom Brady. I'm armed with facts, and they just bounce off of people who already made up their minds.
