Psych

I really don't know how this doesn't have a thread, so I'm adding one. This show makes me laugh more often than just about any other. I guess it helps to be about the age of Sean & Gus (early 30's) so that all the 80's/90's references don't go over your head. This show is obviously not to be watched if you are looking for serious police procedurals, but it fits so well on USA where nearly every show doesn't take itself seriously.
Also, Juliet is soooo ****ing hot. She could be Alicia Silverstone's hotter sister.
So, let's talk about the show. Season 5 just re-started last week (10PM Wed on USA). Seasons 1-4 are all on Netflix Watch Instantly if you haven't seen them.

Re: "Extradition II: The Actual Extradition Part"
I liked the Vancouver storyline before and this was a good follow up. The Canadian police officer they take advantage of makes me laugh. I like Despereaux as well.
So far I'm fine with the Sean-Juliet relationship, but hopefully it doesn't distract too much from the show and they are able to keep it light-hearted.

Re: Psych
I first heard of Psych mid way through season 2 whilst seeing ads for it on Monk. Looked it up and ignored it three or four times before finally deciding to give it a shot. Watched all the eps in a ridiculously short time and loved it since.

I never watched any of the USA shows until I met my wife. I didn't start watching until late season 3 (the episode where they go to the pro football training camp). From then on, I've been watching every episode, plus watched the end run of Monk, and have been watching Burn Notice and Royal Pains. They remind me a lot of all the 80's/90's sitcoms I grew up watching.
Also, every week I look forward to that theme song...

I know, you know, they just don't have any proof

So awesome and I love how they remix it every once in awhile.

Re: Psych
yesss i was thinking about making a thread but was too lazy. this is definitely one of my all-time favorite shows. shawn and gus are such a great "buddy cop" team, and they have great chemistry together. so far they've handled the juliet-shawn relationship pretty well and it hasn't been frustrating (unlike, say, pam and jim from the office), so hopefully they keep that up. i think that's mostly due to it being a relatively small side story as opposed to a major plot mover like jim/pam was.
all the relationships in this show crack me up. well, all the shawn-X ones do. shawn and his father is hilarious, shawn and gus are hilarious, shawn and lassie are hilarious... you get the point.
oh and this might have been LDO for everyone else, but i was super proud of myself for recognizing despereaux as westley from the princess bride and as robin hood (men in tights). that fits in so perfectly with psych's 80s/90s reference as well.

i think they remix it when they have musical guest stars, and it's the guest star singing it (tears for fears, etc).
i could be wrong, though.

Re: Psych
Yeah, they sometimes theme it on the ep. Fwiw the bollywood one is the only one i liked.
Shawn and Juliet getting together will be a big test for the show, but it has taken so long i assume they know this and thus didnt rush into it until they had a good idea where to go with it.

More likely it was that after 4 years the writers started getting desperate. Like, for example, increasing the role of Shawn's father.
Still, this isn't a show you watch for the events in these people's lives, it's the Gus and Shawn Funtime Variety Hour.

Re: Psych
big fan of the show, it sounds like they'll keep the shawn/juliet stuff mostly on the sidelines which is probably good
