Its interesting they went that way at the end with 4 eps to go. This should get pretty crazy to close the season.

I thought the episode was great, Elias is a damn good villain. I'm disappointed in the way he got caught.

Great episode. This show is so good. And I doubt Elias stays caught for very long.

He definitely doesnt expect to stay in prison long. Id assume he is out on bail next episode, possibly because he kidnaps the judge's kid or something like that.

This show is definitely entertaining but stretches reality way too much. Some of the biggest offenders from last night's episode...

-Ridiculous scene the first time John approaches the 1st mob boss, "Hey you don't know me but someone is trying to kill you so come with me" when he has multiple armed bodyguards. What is he trying to accomplish there? He comes off as a crazy person. Way better ways to warn them if that was his intention.

-The scene where Finch convinces HR to double cross one of the most powerful crime figures in NYC just because some stranger shows up with pictures of some families being followed is also ridiculous. Even if they did buy that it was Elias following them (which is not the most likely explanation from their perspective given how Finch approaches them) the way they abandon Elias is far from the most rational way to handle it.

-Totally unrealistic that the bosses wouldn't have more legit places to hide or bunker down, and that their men would abandon them cause they are scared of some upstart.

There are plenty of similar examples in every episode, and more from last night.

Another running thing that is annoying is how tactically inept John often is. I mean, sure, he's a badass who can consistently take multiple people, I don't mind the lack of realism in that department. But the way he sets up his tactical encounters is often really bad with obvious/long approaches to armed people or a number of context specific tactical mistakes.

I still will keep watching it, cause like I said it's entertaining. I just think it's ridiculous people would compare this to the better HBO shows or Homeland. Besides the major suspension of disbelief required there is also strong component of superficiality and predictability to it.

Yeah, the acting, dialogue, and plot are all pretty bad. I still half-watch this though for some reason

I think the acting and dialogue is fantastic. You just have to suspend a lot of disbelief.

Once you get past the suspension of disbelief, this easily one of the most fun shows on TV. There are plenty of shows to overanalyze. This isn't one of them. That was another fantastic episode.

This show is fantastic. They do such a good job with the subplots, integrating them into the main case of the week.

The last two or three episodes have been really good. For me, the big scale episodes like Elias and the five dons are just too unrealistic. But the last few, where the plot of the person whose number is up is not too over the top and they also intertwine it with good backstory of either John or Finch, those are much better.

I think the next to last episode was probably one of my favorites of the season (the Reese sort of backstory). I'm really looking forward to the season finale, and can't wait to see where they go next season. Get on the syndication train, because it's rolling into town.

Amy Acker is too big an actress and the character is Dr Turing, as in the Turing Test and while I wasn't certain she was the hacker from earlier in the season that was the most likely answer by a good margin.

Great season, really looking forward to season two in the fall.

They spun me a bit because I assumed that the Root would be an eventual ally, but her going BOOM HEADSHOT on whatsername makes that pretty unlikely.
