On 17 December 2010 it was confirmed that the show had been renewed for both an 8th and 9th series, but that they would not be aired until at least mid-2012 due to the writers being busy with other projects.

Look at the wiki pages for the writers, Webb and especially Mitchell. They do a lot of other stuff.

While I agree they should be free to pursue other projects. 6 episodes in two years is pretty awful.

I hate that the standard British sitcom is 6 eps. 15 should be the new standard.
