Pretty much this. If The Office never existed, I don't think this would bother me at all- but it's hard to see this and not feel a bit worried with the liberties they're taking with the character.

I think the Leslie stuff people are worried about would have been a lot less bothersome if it hadn't come off two consecutive episodes where Leslie and Ben were dealing with the fallout from their breakup and she was acting similarly.

Unlike Michael, though, Leslie actually has people who will call her on her **** and is also mature enough to acknowledge and try to make amends for it.

I think they made a very concious choice with Leslie being too OTT this and last episode. We are meant to be uncomfortable with the way she is acting, because she is absolutely heartbroken at Ben not even wanting to work with her.

Yeah to be clear it didn't bother me this episode. In fact it really hasn't bothered me at all these last few episodes, because, like you said, she's heartbroken over what's happened to her and Ben, so she has a reason for acting this way. It's not like Michael, whose reason for that (and basically everything he did) was "I was neglected as a child and had no friends so I need everyone to love me and pay attention to me all the time".

Tom's behavior in the "Meet N Greet" episode, and Leslie's quick willingness to forgive him, bothered me much more than anything she's done since.

Yeah the whole point of her plot this episode is when Ann told her EXACTLY how she was acting and why it was annoying, then she came around by the end.

For me, a lot of these nits are just the difference between "The best show on TV" and "A really good show"- but I can't help but be slightly let down by that transition. The fact that we saw another show by the same people (kinda, but also very meaningfully not the same people*) take their characters in similar directions makes it at least worth conversation.

so ben and leslie establish themselves as a couple, some issues ensue, the season ultimately ends with leslie winning her campaign and leaving the department leadership in question.

great episodes for ron/andy.

I found myself so bored/sick of the Leslie/Ben storyline though, and didn't care at all about their relationship until the end. I'm glad that they finally went somewhere with it. It was nice to see Leslie more "real", her being ridiculous 100% of the time doesn't work.

Cold open was great----everything involving Jerry always kills for me

This isn't "a grudge" though. She asks a friend of hers-- who is a hugely grandstanding and selfish friend to begin with-- to help her with her campaign, and-- surprise!-- he makes it all about himself. But we're supposed to sympathize because... he has awful business sense?

It's not a grudge to stop being friends with a person who constantly acts like a selfish and ****ty person.

The non-Ben&Leslie parts were awesome, but given that Ben&Leslie took up approximately half the episode, it was a meh episode, which is annoying, because the others were so great.

Sopranos font killed me.
