- Ruiz is mad that she got more time on her sentence, soo she pulls a stunt that could screw her even more if Piper just goes to the guards.

- I dont know if I'm the only one, but the second Poussey came on the screen in ep 12, all happy with her gf, I knew she was dead. Then, when she gets the job offer from Judy, I thought it was laughably obvious. Maybe I know Matt Weiner too well. that first scene was so ominous.

- I think the finale was the much better episode. in the aftermath, everyone responds in unique character-based ways. flaca preparing to cry for the cameras was hilarious. and Luschek's scene where he just wants to address the flavored coffee in the breakroom.

- I dont like the thread this season that painted the guards are the big bad. i thought it was a bit too on the nose. the creators seem to really have an agenda against ex-military guys. maybe it becomes a larger commentary, but i dont need that out of this show.

- Agree with whoever said that Morello was probably the most compelling this season, and that the Watson character is total garbage.

Yeah the head guard was too unrealistic. He was cartoon comical villain by the end. The rest of the guards are all much better imo. Even the insane guy is closer to reality than the boss.

I thought Lori Petty destroyed this season. She should win an Emmy.

Just binge-watched all 4 seasons. Some thoughts:
Glad they killed off Vee. Sad they killed off Poussey.
Piper gets more unlikable every season.
Really felt for Crazy Eyes when you learned why she is in prison.
I suppose the reason why they kept showing Caputo running into the old prison guards is because they're going to end up coming back and replacing the new ones.

Anyone watch 2 or 3 eps of how terrible the new season is?

I think they got rid of star ratings in anticipation of house of cards and this abomination.

I actually like the new season a lot. Granted, it's completely ridiculous, but​ I'm not watching the show for it's realism.

I think I just finished episode 8.

House of cards has been pretty much unwatchable this season(struggled through only one or two episodes)

Maybe I'll watch a couple more episodes, but yea, it's too ridiculous.

Also the agenda they're pushing is just way too tiring.

I watched the whole season but wasn't overly impressed. It doesn't help that I find the two main characters hard to tolerate.

Who are the 2 main characters? After 4 eps I think, the original main character has maybe 47sec total air time

the thing i love about this show still carries through, that's seeing people that you'd never see on other shows... fat, old bulldykes, the mexican girl with terrible grooming, tasty, and the black jewish girl. and the white rejects too, like pennsatucky and the rest. and they are portrayed with humanity.

this season explored their humanity in a different way. they are all given the power. that's compelling to me, even if it is contrived.

i just finished the last episode, and i thought it was really great! if you suspend your disbelief, it's really top notch tv. great acting, great tension, great drama

I wouldn't say it's "must see" but I thought it was an ok season to watch.

i didn't think piscatello was cartoonish. i was surprised at how his character was revealed. his backstory showed him in a different light, not just a villain.

Watched two episodes so far and now that I'm aware of what the season's arc involves, I'm dreading finishing this. It is cool to watch the skinhead now that I know them from Billions.

5 eps in I like s5, nice chance of pace with full season riot. I do like the series but I don't think I would wstch it alone tbh, good show for with the gf. And I couldnt care less about the backstory's out of prison most of the time at this point tbh

i'm not sure if OITNB even said this, and if they said it i don't know if it's true... but i think one of the episodes talked about whole foods using prison labor. if this had been an amazon show, and amazon owned netflix that content surely would have been censored.

I fear this show is going the way of Weeds--a few great seasons and then Jenji Kohan runs out of ideas and the show turns into ridiculous unwatchable crap.
