Disagree. The show has excelled at creating an interesting cast of characters. Which means it doesnt have to focus on Piper so heavily going forward.

I'm really loving how we see the background of various inmates and how they got in prison.

Just finished the season, and really really liked it. Not surprised at the Jason Biggs hate, but I think he gets a bad rap because of his past movies, and was actually pretty good.

Thought Laura Prepon was the biggest acting sore thumb in the show. I know she's nice to look at but all of the meaningful scenes between her and Schilling it was so frustrating to watch Schilling just kill it, and Prepon be unable to put any feeling behind any of her dialogue at all. The rest of the supporting cast was excellent though.

I think it's important to keep Piper's family/friends involved in the plot actually. Prison life vs non-prison life is a key component of the show's heart, and even basic contrast scenes of thanksgiving dinner out vs in are important to keep the watcher feeling the pain that Piper is in for remaining in prison.

Also, awesome throwaway line from ep 11ish when Biggs is hanging out with Piper's brother: "This isn't even remotely coffee."

I just finished season 1, thought it was phenomenal. Pretty realistic (even if there is some "suspension of belief" ), like you guys know in real prison the kitchen has knives too right?

Also saw someone point out the hanging vs drug od... But clearly the prison is corrupt and was trying to hide the story hence why there was no autopsy.

When season 2 gets released, anyone want to organize some kind of joint watching? Where we can discuss each episode (or say, block of 3 episodes)? That's the one downfall to thee netflix shows, I feel like I'm missing out on the discussion.

Loved season 1 and am looking forward to season 2. Am really disappointed Natasha Lyonne is leaving the show because she is just great in almost everything she does but I'm glad she is working on a show for FOX.

Great, great show. This is one of the best-written, most original shows I've ever seen.

And the cast - holy ****. Yes, the characters are incredibly well-written and three-dimensional - every one. But man, this cast is amazing. The Hispanic chicks, the black chicks, the Jesus freaks, the staff....everybody.

It's hard to single anyone out, but the actress who plays Crazy Eyes is my favorite. I'm also amazed at how good an actress Taryn Manning is. I had no clue.

Can't wait for season 2.

Imo. theme song is fine. I really like the transgender hairdresser as a character on the show and hope they look into her relationship with her son next season.

Finally got around to watching this. Wow. Just completely awesome start to finish. I not only think it was better than House of Cards but is the best show currently being made when Breaking Bad wraps up.

Everything starting at the casting and writing through to the directing and editing is completely nop notch. For any show to have such a huge cast and build them all up so well in as few eps as they did is an amazing feat in itself.

FTR, big fan of Regina Spektor so I like the theme song.
