I bought this on DVD at Target, (only 25$ right now on sale)
Both my wife and I enjoyed it a ton and we tore through it in two days.
Really interesting show... They set up a ton of stuff for season two as well...
Its watchable... for some reason I think the girl doctor is sooo attractive
The scene (very early, like ep 1 or 2) where the administrator comes out of the hospital to bollock Jackie for smoking out the front of the hospital and the doctor just tells her to **** off was easily my fave scene. The one where she took the new nurse out to dinner was also really great.
I was quite excited for this because it was hyped up a lot before it started airing. I watched the first episode and I didn't really feel it. I was going to give it a few more chances but something happened...the hype died down or something and I didn't even know when it was airing, then I forgot about it.
I've been watching Showtime's re-airing of the first season. I think there are 3 episodes left before the 2nd season starts. I've also watched United States of Tara which I think I like better. Both are pretty solid so far.
NJ took me a few episodes to get into. It takes virtually the entire season before you get a true handle on how all the characters fit together. Which is pretty odd, its rare for a US show to not rush stuff like that out and make it super obvious that the staff and the boyfriend at the hospital know nothing about her husband and kids (and visa versa). Tbh i probably gave it a chance more for Edie Falco and the controversy over drug use than anything else i saw in the first ep or two.
I think Nurse Jackie....has really upped their game this season. Season 2 much better than the first season.
Funniest scene was where DR Coop was complaining about Nurse Jackie to the hospital Administrator and she is taking copious notes and nodding and after he leaves, camera pans down to her notepad and all she wrote was A$$HOLE.
Yeah, this show is really good. They have worked out who their characters are going to be and where the show will go and they are really in the groove right now.
Tore through season 2 in 2 days and am caught up on S3 so far. I'm a big fan of this show. It's a shame it's not getting the love that it deserves.
As was said earlier, I totally dig the girl nurse. Coop is fantastic. So sad to see him be so self-conscious that he has to pay for the hospital advertising out of his own pocket, so he can see his face around town.
