Idk if your post was in response to me or just a general post, but if was the former, you are misunderstanding my criticism. My problem isn't that they don't have long arcs, it is that all of the plotting in the show is very cliche, which makes twists lose their humour. Additionally the mockumentary concept adds nothing outside of a couple throwaway jokes interview scenes and them making the show a mockumentary and not adhering to the concept at all shows a much bigger problems in the writers ability to create a show that can last. Since it shows they don't really know what they are doing and just mashing concepts together.

Eh, I think this is overly critical of taking The Office style mockumentary concept and moving it to a large extended family. (And it's certainly more original than taking The Office style mockumentary concept and moving it to... another work place situation comedy)
With 3 families there are alot of moving parts and the interviews (for me) add alot of information and there are great moments for humor.
The most surprising thing about this series is how great Al Bundy is. Overall I'd give this thing a B to B+ - I don't think it has the potential to be something on the level of AD (and I doubt they're going for something as complex from a storytelling standpoint).
