Seems a bit of trend recently among comedians to play fictionalized versions of themselves with Louie CK in Louie and Jim Jefferies in Legit.

I'm a fan of his WTF podcast and enjoyed the first episode. Looking forward to watching more, especially as Wikipedia says:

1st episode was okay. 2nd episode was quite good. It has potential, but if you weren't already a fan of his, it probably won't be your cup'o'tea.

Haven't watched the first episode yet, but while I'm a huge fan of his podcast I always skip the first ten minutes (i.e., him solo). Not sure what that says about my prospects for liking the show.

Same here, wish he'd just do away with that opening monologue, it's just filler and never funny/entertaining at all.

Decent 3rd episode. I still think it has potential to be really good, but it's going to take longer then I thought. It's fun to see the stand-up cameos though.

I think I'mma have to go back on what I was saying about this show having potential to be really good. It's only trying to be a funny show, nothing more. And it's only kinda funny. Sometimes.

I haven't watched his show, but have forced myself to listen to multiple podcasts. I cherrypicked the best guests, and loved hearing the guests, but really disliked how pissed off and negative Maron is without being funny. Maron takes himself way too seriously. At least Carolla(a fellow blowhard) throws in an occasional joke.

Bump!

The first season of this show was solid. The second season's been good as well... that is until episode 7. I wasn't digging it at all, AT ALL, until...

Mr. GOAT - David Cross randomly walks through the door! Best. Ever.

The only episode I didn't like this season was the last one, until, like you said, David Cross got involved.

I think the rest has been damn good. Good enough that I went and bought "Thinky Pain" and "This Has To Be Funny" at Amoeba yesterday just cause Maron's style of comedy is really working for me right now.

The trend really started with Seinfeld (as far as I know - I suppose that there may have been an earlier show of the same type that I can't think of).

That show did a great job showing how he balanced his day job as doctor and his night job as a stand up comedian.
