Her parents house seemed more plausible since she already noted it was only 90 minutes away

The baseball game was silly and terribly wrong, but it doesn't matter to me much. I still think this was an excellent episode, maybe just a shade under last week.
Is this suppose to be some sort of critique on what an acid trip should be like? How realistic or not it was? Taken much acid back in the 60's?

I didn't feel like i was in a trip like headspace, I felt like some guy was sitting in his bathtub describing something that if he was really seeing it he'd be completely incapacitated.

What's the symbolism behind choosing 1919 WS btw? cheating=infidelity?
I don't think hallucinating a baseball game was realisitic, but I loved the contrast between Roger's euphoria and Jane's terror.

I enjoyed the episode, but fsoyars nailed my thoughts on the current state of our beloved Don.

The sooner they write Megan out of the damn series the better. She isn't even hot.

Unless the teeth are a deal breaker, I don't see how you can't call Jessica Pare hot. She's amazing.

The teeth do bother me. Also being from Europe myself, her being "European" does nothing for me.

Finally, and most important by far, I hold her personally responsible for diminishing one of the greatest TV characters of our time!

I say bring back Betty (before she got fat, obv!)

I only recently realized that Megan is the girl from Lost and Delirious. If you are a Megan fan I highly recommend you watch that movie. Or at least certain scenes from it.

people saying that the music out of the bottle was cheesy. i found it very cool, with the added nice touch of Russian choir music coming out of a bottle of Stolichnaya.

that music/image conjured up advertising for me - i could imagine a stoli ad evoking russian choirs, etc.

Re: Mad Men - Season 5

The worst part about the acid trip for me was how they were just even more focused on their petty differences than usual most of the time. Roger's talking about some stupid baseball game while she's feeling socially uncomfortable alone with him in the bathtub. And their little relationship issues taking on more gravity when they're tripping bothered me too. I mean if they seem petty to me, they should certainly seem petty to someone taking hallucinogens. There's none of the looking deeper within yourself and pushing away the superficialities of life, or the bonding of such an intense shared experience between two people that are close to each other. The only scene relating to acid that rang true at all was when Roger was telling Don it was gonna be a great day the next morning.

Re: Mad Men - Season 5

Great episode and I would be lying if I said I didn't want Dids and PJ's take on this thought.

After Bert speaks with Don and lets him have it, Don seems to be hit with the truth of Bert's accusation. The conference room suddenly seems like a prison where he is seperated from the rest of the company and as they (employees of SCDP) walk by it seems to me that Don is realizing how he has lost his dominance over these employees. Not to say he can't recapture them.

I was convinced for a very long time that it was Roger who was the falling man in the opening scenes because he was thrust into a world where he was antiquated. In a world where men seem to value themselves solely based on their work abilities Roger was a total illusion supported only because he used to be a bigshot in the advertising world. When this episode ended and Don was standing alone while the office passes him by, figuratively and literally, he seems to be self exiling himself from the world that Roger has been dropped from. Don risks becoming Roger by his own doing! However like stated above he can easily jump right back in and I believe he will. It gave me a newfound sense of pity and at the same time respect for how Roger must feel yet still conducts himself with a form of dignity.
I am not so certain who will be falling from the building now. But I'm more convinced it will be Don than I ever was.
