Yeah, it seemed like Gus was the one who became a Dick once Mickey took the leap and said, yeah, I'm going to fall for this geek.

I mean she shat all over everything he liked, couldn't even act like an adult for an hour to not embarrass him at the magic castle (something that obv meant alot to him) then told him another of his hobbies was stupid and emasculated him in bed.

she then proceeded to show up unannounced repeatedly, only took any interest once she saw another girl was into him at which point she became super clingy and psychotic.

I don't see one thing that would've made him want to see her again after that night.

I thought she gave the Magic Castle a good try. He was the uptight, no-fun date on that one. She was making the best of it, with wanting to follow the laughing lady around. I mean, I've been to the Magic Castle, and they really do take themselves too seriously.

And then he did invite her to his sing-a-long, she was half asleep when she replied. She shows up, and he doesn't show her any interest - and this is the night after they spent the night together. I understand her confusion. He was a dick.

Mickey has issues, yes, but Gus was no innocent bystander in that clusterfk.

She understood the point. She went on the offensive because Gus was ignoring her.

yes I agree 100% he's awful and I have no idea why either of the girls would have any interest in him.

he has zero game isn't good looking doesn't have a cool job and isn't particularly smart or witty.

the whole show really made no sense yet somehow I watched it all and would've kept watching had it not ended.

my original point in all this was to the poster who said how much he liked her CHARACTER n had a crush on it not her.

it's one thing to think the actress is hot but I just can't understand how anyone would be attracted to a girl like that IRL.

but I def wasn't trying to say he was a catch or any more appealing than her, they were both self absorbed narcissistic douchebags with no apparent redeeming qualities.

I agree their relationship made zero sense and didn't see Mickey ever going for a guy like Gus.

I didn't mean that the character would make her more likeable than your average person but I also didn't see what the big deal was about any of her choices really.

Basically I meant:

I think she's 9,5/10 hot
I think she's 10/10 interesting/exciting/attractive in that way
She has a bunch of character traits that aren't ideal and count as minuses, but overall I didn't consider them anywhere near bad enough that I wouldn't want to pursue something with her, given points 1 and 2 above. I didn't mean that she'd be my dream girl or something character-wise, just that I think her negative personality traits are somehow hyperboled ITT.

She's way out of his league looks wise.
She consistently dates crappy guys and is now looking for a 'nice' guy.

Don't overthink everything.

her dating the guy at the beginning made even less sense really

he wasn't good looking and was a loser and a jerk

or the fact she cared they broke up

id say she was better during the magic castle, but worse during the sing-a-long

it was pretty horrible for her to decline the initial invitation + make fun of it, and then show up late and unannounced. and then to basically continue making fun of it. and to just stand awkwardly in the kitchen for the first part. she never really tried to give it a chance

also i did wonder how she knew he ****ed the actress girl that night. since she would've obv left before that happened. like i get having suspicions i guess, but the show treated it like it was certain knowledge (the way she yelled about it when she showed up at his work)

plus she started hiding in his room and going through the girl's purse and ****. that night was def her fault and not his. that was basically the start of her demise in the relationship for me - i didn't feel like she owed gus anything after the magic castle. but showing up unannounced to the sing-a-long + his work is what did it in

i think in general mickey was cool up until those two things showing up unannounced. imo it was just because she had a hard time relating to gus since he was such a dork/nerd. like the things she would normally do to be a good gf wouldn't quite work with him and she had to go out of her comfort zone

with a normal guy who likes to socialize and drink and go to bars like she does, I'm sure shed be fine. she was a dick to her awesome roommate, but most of that was also because she was focused on gus (too focused). so she's had some ****ty relationships but she's pretty cool and laid back most of the time. so id agree that the thread is prob being too harsh on her

i watched it a couple months ago though and maybe I'm forgetting some details

it's kindv funny how far ppl are willing to bend over backwards to try n defend her cuz she's cute whereas if she wasn't attractive she'd just be labeled a crazy bitch n that would be the end of it.

so what's your point? no ones bending over backwards

your point was that people are basing personality/likability ratings on attractiveness

which isn't the case

lol dude u have no idea wtf ur talking about.
if ur trying to argue that the roommate isn't attractive then LOL.

and ya I'm so sure if mickey was 185lbs with acne ppl would still be defending her personality.....
