Re: The Killing
glad to see the show still brutally abuses the concept of coincidence in every plot move they decide to make
aunt whoever forgets her cigarettes in her street-parked, unlocked car and realizes it and sends the terrified pre-teen kids out to get them at the exact same time that a reporter is outside and wouldn't you know it that is also the exact same time that dad gets home, and all of this is within an hour of richmond being cleared - you'd think at this blitz pace things would actually happen sometimes.
richmond just happens to willfully put himself in a situation to get soaking wet with no alibi when at the exact same time one of his stolen campaign cars is ran into a lake with a girl he can be linked to by video tape is in the trunk. and that situation requires that he not tell anyone at any time - until it's too late, of course. and he would've been able to keep it a secret if only linden hadn't conned her way into his apartment looking for nothing in particular and accidentally stumbled upon a note written on the back of a photo that just happened to already have its frame broken so she could casually turn it over and see the note.
holder, who is always sitting in other people's cars and never at the office, just happens to walk into the office 5 seconds into stan's rant about "WHERE IS HOLDER"
stan happens to walk by his kids room as they're casually discussing their father's failure to protect them - like all young boys do.
and lol handcuffed belko getting a cop's gun and getting him into execution position

This doesn't nearly do that scene justice. It's implied that the person who sneaks up on the kid (first appearing in the reflection of the car window as a shock moment) is the killer. He also decides to use a creepy rape voice when he asks if the kid is the kid. Then they cut to commercial, and upon returning it's revealed that it's not the killer and just some reporter. I think that was the 30th time this show tried to make people think someone is the killer before cutting to commercial. I can't believe the people writing the show don't realize they are doing the same thing over and over. I can't imagine marathoning this show, it would be hilarious to just have endless red herrings with no break in between.

Re: The Killing
Richmond in the hospital was also amazing for so many reasons. First, when Richmond wakes up from his coma, there are no doctors around, just the staffer guy. Staffer guy then goes into the hall pleading with a nurse that he woke up and is talking, but the nurse says all the doctors are busy and nobody can see him right now. Apparently the writers forgot that if the mayoral frontrunner of a huge city was shot in an assassination attempt, it might be sort of a national story. I'm sure Gabby Giffords also had a hard time getting medical attention when she woke up.
After that, Linden is confronting Richmond about some apparent suicide attempt, but instead of just coming out with it, she does the standard overdramatic soliloquy, closing with the big reveal that he jumped off a bridge. The only problem is they are the only two people in the room, so I'm not really sure why she needed to re-connect all the dots right in front of him instead of just leading with the important info they are both aware of.

Re: The Killing
What is exasperating is that there nearly zero progress being made towards finding the killer. Keep this up and the audience count will be heading towards zero too.

Re: The Killing
I have both of these eps on my HD, but I don't think I'm ever going to watch them. I think I'll wait until the season is over, burn them all to DVD and sacrifice them in my backyard. Then I'll #1 and #2 all over the ashes.

Re: The Killing
it would be quite an achievement if they managed to make 6 full seasons out of this same murder

Re: The Killing
they can do it because the entire city are suspects. it's like "who shot mr burns" - every single person coincidentally had motive and opportunity to kill rosie.

Re: The Killing
I can't bring myself to believe that somebody who has such an inability to communicate as Linden could ever be a successful detective. She won't communicate with her ex, she didn't communicate with her boyfriend, she won't answer her son's questions, she won't talk to Holder...
Mind you, lots of other characters won't communicate either. Sort of like the show - it keeps things from the viewer. Wonder if the creator was held back in school. Now everything is about holding things back.

Re: The Killing
I just caught the beginning of this week's episode and saw the "Day Seventeen" opening. I had actually forgotten these were 1 day per episode. This series has had about 8 good suspects on this murder in about 2 weeks.

Re: The Killing
fat louis ck just has no luck with his kids - they walk in every single time he's talking about/doing something he doesn't want them to hear/see. they're like carl from walking dead.
the apparent conspiracy behind rosie's murder has already gotten too big for any sane reveal to make sense, so it's time to just go ahead and roll out the clones and aliens and time travel.

Re: The Killing
After watching the 1st season, I was ready to call this the worst show ever made. My friend talked me into watching the 2nd season, and its been 7 million times better than the 1st. Its actually kind of good right now.
