I'm rewatching Breaking Bad at the moment. I just noticed Wynn Duffy is the councillor when Jessie goes to rehab.

Raylan is as bad as Boyd yet claims otherwise because every time he wants to hurt somebody he thinks he's got the law on his side
I was pretty sloshed when I said this. For the most part it is what I think, but a little brash, and I don't agree with the last sentence. Raylan isn't as bad of a guy as Boyd. But he does have a similar moral compass in that they believe the ends justifies the means. They both have no qualms hurting people they think deserve it. Early-show Boyd was a truly awful person, but late-show Boyd only goes after people who cross him or are already in the crime game. Raylan goes after people who he thinks are breaking the law, but is fine with breaking the law himself if he feels it's necessary. Raylan probably views himself, in a way, like the bad guy the world needs to keep the even badder guys from the door

The multiple meanings are in the name: Justified. Are Raylan's actions truly justified or does he just think they are? It will always be up for debate

As for evidence of Raylan using his badge as a weapon and claiming the moral high ground, I've only watched each episode one time, so I don't remember that many specifics. I assume the whole situation with Raylan having that guy killed and his boss finding out and loathing him and punching him is all the example needed. I also recall him beating on people all the time. He feels justified to stretch the law when he believes that person himself breaks the law

I hope the season opener is Boyd's wife getting her throat cut. Her prison storyline is the worst. This is the Raylan vs Boyd show now. Boyd's development has been so incredible that he's stealing the show from Raylan, and this makes a true rivalry where there isn't a clear protagonist or clear antagonist. That's probably the reason I still watch. The production is good and the chicks drip sex, but its Boyd's awesomeness that sets the show above most others

I'm ready to see Raylan, Boyd and the boys. I'm really hoping this is a great final season.

Just marathoned 5 seasons of Justified.

So much to say, I wish I could morph into Boyd to articulate it all so perfectly.
Love all the characters that take a dig at his 'talk'.

I will mention just a couple of things.
I wouldn't mind seeing Raylan die. He is great, but as (was it Wyona?) said, "you are the angriest man I ever met". He always fighting something, those pesky demons inside.
It would have to be him trying to take down 5 or more guys at once tho.

This thread should just double as a justified appreciation thread in the meanwhile, and when we find the season start date.

Also love the 'never leave Harlan alive' season ending song.

Thanks to those who recommended watching it

It was indeed Winona who called Raylan the angriest man she had ever met.

Here's a S1 trailer with a healthy amount of Boyd Crowder for everyone's viewing pleasure.

there is just no reason for raylan to die.
anti-hero's die to redeem themselves.
raylan is a str8 hero (maybe i'm biased from reading all the books, but he's just not presented in a way that would require him to die in order to redeem his arc).

seems like most likely ending is boyd giving himself up to save eva.

we want to root for boyd as he's so likable, but we know he's "bad" so he has to do something "good" in order to redeem himself.

I love Raylan as much as the next guy, but I can see him almost being free if he dies. Its either that or happily ever after with that bi-poler woman.

He just cant go on doing what he does. Its like he wants to put himself in suicidal situations and come what may.

Im not great at trying to convey my thoughts into words. Its just this feeling that I get from the show.

I get what you are saying about Boyd, it seems too cliche and predictable tho.... Hope the show kinda stays away from that. Maybe Ava shoots boyd in the end.

The only death I didn't want to see now or in the future was Boyds right hand guy (taped up and shot in the chest). He was a good guy.
oh and Tim, Tim is awesome. I want to see more of him

Everyone left is fair game to me.

Raylan will most likely end up with Winona and their daughter.

just a tiny gripe,
Raylan, Boyd, Art, and Ava have all been shot and lived, whilst others die instantly.

On top of which you add Boyd dying and you have an awful yet predictable ending for an awesome show.

I've rarely pulled for the "bad guy" this much before. Ultimate man crush for Boyd Crowder, what can I say.

Rayleen could die.

What if Boys knows it's live or die and has him killed?

What if he dies in a shoot-out?

Or someone just gets the drop on him after he doesn't wait for back up? He could die halfway through the season in this scenario.

I'm on #teamBoyd

I think a better ending would be that Raylan dies and it causes Boyd to clean up his act and make things right after killing Raylan's killer(s).

Lol, where do you live? I've streamed the first three seasons a few months ago on Netflix planning to do the whole show by the time the last season starts and iirc it was all on there inc the most recent season.

I might be the only one but I don't want Raylan to die. I don't want Boyd to die either but I think he is just as likely to die as Raylan is. I think several of the peripheral characters will be gone by seasons end.
