JJ was good. I did feel sympathy for Kilgrave at times. LOL me I guess.
Tennant was the best Doctor for me. And he's now the best MCU villain for me. I just love him.

Still haven't watched Broadchurch, will def get on that.

Tennant in Broadchurch is a total weenie, nothing like Kilgrave at all. I mean, he's a great actor and all, but he's showing different skills. I much prefer him evil and cocky in JJ.

"Outstanding, Miller!"

Not saying he was a bigger badass in Broadchurch by any means. Just an interesting guy to watch do his work.

I think that's the genius of the character.
Spoiler:

Because of his power, while growing up he's never had to face any adversity or learn how to treat other people, so he becomes the ultimate sociopath. But he has the emotional development of a child, and like a child who does something horrible you can't help but feel sorry for them at times.

He's incredibly petulant at the slightest adversity or insult and seems to truly believe that Jessica can grow to love him despite what he did to her.

Just finished. Think the series peaked in the middle, around ep 6-9. All around entertaining TV though.

i didnt know any story around jessica jones before the show and I was kind of hoping the whole show would become JJ trying to turn him into a good guy and him ****ing up half the time and killing/raping people when hes not on his game

I definitely understand the preachy vibe. A 13 hour rape redemption story is a little much. The heroes are all minorities. The 2 villains are white men. Gay characters shoehorned in. Ive always been very liberal on social issues and especially gay marriage, but I feel like if an Alien only had current television to get to know human kind they would assume that 25% of us are gay.

i wasn't disappointed by the fight scenes at all. jessica jones is not a flashy fighter like daredevil. and this show isn't about fight scenes.

killgrave is a great character but i was a little disappointed. with that great of an actor and that great of a character.... i was hoping for some better dialogue from him. like moriarty in sherlock.

regarding the end
Spoiler:
jessica jones should have ripped his head off with her bare hands, not just snapped his neck

and season 2 should be a prequel

Kilgrave was great, show was 3 eps too long. I didn't know it was 13 eps, was expecting it to end any time now during ep10.

i dont think anyone mentioned that the lesbian wife gave one of the greatest performances in television history when she was calamity jane on deadwood.

i was glad to see her getting some work

I've been watching Daredevil because of this thread. Can someone tell me what part of New York they're based in? I know JJ mentioned it once or twice, but Daredevil never does.

i live in HK and i don't say HELLS KITCHEN HELLS KITCHEN HELLLLLLLSSSSSSSS KITCHEN as much as that show does.

One thing I seemed to notice is that DD was definitely filmed in Brooklyn but JJ seemed to actually do a ton of stuff in the HK/Midtown area.

Batman is so iconic the character has been used by writers all over the political spectrum to represent different politics. In the 90s on the The Animated Series he was a weepy lefty protector of the poor and downtrodden. There was some press recently about an issue where he rescues a black teen from cops. On the other hand Frank Miller's Batman is as far right as can be. He had Batman traveling to the Middle East to fight bad brown guys!

I noticed too. They had scenes in Central Park (LDO), and also Bryant park right by where my company's office is. Also I'm pretty sure I've actually been in Luke Cage's bar - it looks exactly like a bar near where I was staying this past summer right across the street from the south east corner of Tompkins Square in the East Village.

Lots of good locations

Trinity's office is in the Bank of America tower
Restaurant hanging (and other) scenes are at Public in Nolita
TPM gets blow-darted across the street from Union Square Park
TPM gets hit by a bus near the Port Authority Bus Terminal

Did this jump into anyone's head immediately when Jessica was describing her 'flight' to Trish?
