On one hand I'm excited, on the other I'm pissed because yet another of my favorite shows is about to end. And what makes it worse is there's no worthy replacement in sight.

No date set yet. Which sucks, cause when this thread was made, I thought there was one.

Ah whatever.

It's cool with me if they take more time. Breaking Bad took a year off in between seasons and it didn't hurt it at all.

Just go out with the best season possible. If it gets delayed two years for that then I am ok with it.

Saw Wynn Duffy walking in Santa Monica a couple of weeks ago. Got me jonesing for some Justified. And now this tease. Argh.

Should air in January just like last 3 seasons.

I weighed the pros n cons of creating this thread before an air date was announced, but felt the epic casting news was worth it.

Raylan won't die but he should because he's really just a douche. All he does is use his badge as a weapon then claim the moral high ground. Boyd OTOH is a pimp and should be the one who puts Raylan six feet under (yet he won't). Boyd is a bad dude but at least he's charismatic and knows he's a bad dude. Raylan is as bad as Boyd yet claims otherwise because every time he wants to hurt somebody he thinks he's got the law on his side

TJ takes it a bit far, but I feel the same way, mostly.

Boyd stole the show many seasons ago and is the true boss of Justified. It's not that I don't like Raylan/Olyphant, it's just that Boyd is one of the GOAT TV character. And I don't use "GOAT" lightly.

Also hard to disagree with Raylan being a bit of a douche, and what TJ said about him in general imo.

Hope the writers let the bad guy win! Sadly I suspect it wouldn't be very 'murican of them

he's fought personal battles multiple times (and taken the worst of it) where he could've arrested the guy for assault on a federal officer but he didn't, and he has been pretty reasonable in his treatment of criminals IMO.

he may not always go by the book but he def seems to conduct himself in an ethical manner, and conducts himself like I would want a marshal to.

he's not even remotely an "anti-hero" and not getting the "douche" vibe at all.

now if u find Boyd a more interesting character that's totally diff, and more often then not the "bad guy" gets to be more interesting.

pretty awful derail tho IMO.

Boyd and raylan are both amazing characters.

So many characters I want see again and see what happens to them. Just a few off the top of my head:

Dewey Crowe/Dicky Bennett - Two of my favourite characters, and both now in jail.
Loretta McCready - Outsmarted Raylan yet again last season.
Ellstin Limehouse - Appeared again in S4, still as menacing as ever.
Winona Hawkins - Living with the baby in Florida. While her character can be pretty annoying, she's one of the only people that can get Raylan to lose his cool and possibly do something crazy. Also Natalie Zea...
Wynn Duffy - Will his slightly odd relationship with his bodyguard, as well as his love for women's tennis and Winnebago living ever be explained?
Constable Sweeney - "People underestimate Bob at their own peril."

^ totally, that's sth i love about this show, as good as raylan and boyd are, the supporting cast are fantastic and each character gets you somewhat emotionally invested or just has ... character rather than just being filler

also, i just wanna see him throw more bullets at ppl

Raylan is a more interesting character than Boyd, but both are two sides of the same coin. They are both conflicted, and handle that confliction differently. Raylyn is, at heart, a good guy. Boyd is not.

They are the same character, they just made two different choices. One left Harlan, the other stayed. Everything else is identical with them right down to their moral compass and sense of justice.

Neither is specifically good or bad, they are shades of grey.

Grey..... Matter.....
