Virtually the same scenario with another all in idiot suicide bet from 2nd only this time it pays off. New season contestants not off to a solid wagering start.

Had show on in background and it wasn't until double jeopardy when I heard Alex say that chick's name. I had a dumb grin on my face for her string of 10 in a row. Dorcas has to be a top 3 all time name for someone on a trivia show.

Heartbreaking loss though - she was an inferior player to Seth but made the right wagers and got some luck and was ahead but then blew it on what I consider a pretty easy FJ.

Interesting FJ, I got it: Movies: Of the 25 most adapted authors, only this one is living;

Spoiler:
Stephen King
Thought that FJ was ridiculously easy, couldn't believe that no one got it, or that the guy in the middle couldn't even come up with the name of a living author.

Not coming up with a guess was embarrassing for that person. That is sophomore leverl high school **** that should be recalled by a person on jeopardy.

We've seen Dorcas in genealogy research but not since the early 1800s. Lots of interesting names back then.

I re-watched this question like 5 times before I gave up and assume it's a rare **** up. From Thursday maybe

Category: It's plain to see it's 33.

John Belushi in 1982 and this other Hefty SNL comic in 1992 passed away aged 33.

Answer is Chris Farley, but he died in 1997.
I guessed John Candy even though I think that was 94

It was Friday's show. It was a writer error, a very bad error.

What was with that chick's speech impediment that she couldn't pronounce San Francisco?

Lumi be Alex being disappointed in Seth's last DD wager, laughing out loud, and giving him the "boo-hiss" on his $600 FJ wager.

This guy is good, but the competition hasn't been amazing

Just catching up. Elena from Friday
Way above J! Average.

Like the champ ok in terms of knowledge but he was either reckless early in his run- or he counted on rational wagers from 2nd and maximized his winnings. But über conservative wagers with HUUGE leads makes me think he is not very wager savvy.

Wow. Friday FJ. Seems like he goes by category. Likes it and he shoved. Hates it and he stands pat. Why wouldn't you bet something -even $2?

Poor Elena wins 98% of the time in that situation. Unlucky.

Seth is so bad at wagering in general but that Final wager by Miranda is so bad that I can't even describe it

You beat me to it. 15.8 vs 9.1 I think. He even overbets at 3K, but she only goes for 1.5K. Yarn Purveyor, Roller Derby Queen, Moron.

Of course dude "BING!" didnt shove the late daily double.

I want an alternate universe where Elena wins on Friday.

Bing should've jammed there, I wanted for him to do it so bad. Nope. The fact that Elena did on Friday gave me hope. I also want that universe, but man did she miss what I consider a pretty easy Final.

I just cannot imagine going on Jeopardy and not betting enough on Final Jeopardy to win the game if I get it right and my opponent gets the question wrong. (i.e. in the spot we were in there, where 3rd had no bearing on it)

Why the f did Trebek tell Seth that it was a runaway when he hit the 2nd DD yesterday? At the time, the scores were Seth $25200, Dennis $10600 and Jocelyn $2600. If Seth had wagered any amount and missed the clue, and then Dennis had gotten the final $2000 clue correct, Dennis would've had more than half of Seth's total.

For a relatively sharp contestant, it is rather stunning how bad Seth's wagers have been. He should give Miranda half of his winnings on this day. Her 1500 wager made no sense whatsoever.

Jesus, yesterday's FJ wager by Miranda might have been the worst of all time. She got the perfect result (she was the only one to get the clue correct) and somehow still managed to lose. I can understand not being perfect at wagering, but how can you be intelligent enough to get on the show and wager that poorly?

Just caught up on yesterday's episode. Wtf was that. Definitely one of the worst final jeopardy wagers I've seen. I almost feel angry about it lol

What do you guys think about the current 11(?) day champ? He's obviously good, but I think his competition has been really weak... Like when I think of an 11 day champ it's someone who just CRUSHES and wagers a little better.

Am I alone?

He has been gifted at least 1 win and mis-bet his way into another. He has benefited when his strategically capable opponents missed. Plus throw in opponents that don't bet daily doubles and aren't that great knowledge wise.

He's good but IMO 3-4 wins good. He's got some alchemy going to get to 11.

Knowledge very good but not elite. Must be the worst wagering long run champion.

He's good, and is quick on the buzzer. He definitely has a pretty broad knowledge base too. Agree his comp hasn't been great and he should've lost already at least once.

I'm definitely rooting for him to lose now as I've grown sick of him.

Finally.

Agree with the above to an extent but I do think he was a superior player to Buzzy Cohen, though perhaps Cohen's wagering was better. It's poetically just that he was beaten on a question where he did not wager properly (or perhaps he did, but still, hate the idea of being in that spot and losing). I do think he'll be quite a competitor at the ToC but that he is not on a Chu/Collins/Jacob level.

Haven't watched Jeopardy in so long, super rustled by that 6k wager on the late DD. You could be in the lead
