Right. He demanded it. But you can't believe anyone, anything Frank says he wants is opposite, this show sucks.

I think the no brainer of a plot was to have him switch parties a few seasons ago. He's pretty much a republican already (war hawk, hates entitlements) and everyone in the democrat leadership hated him.

Yes, he's just a deputy, but it's still unrealistic. However, no less plausible than many other things this season.

Finished the 4th season. This show was so good up until he got shot. Its slowly started to decline since then. Still good though. I look forward to the next season.

IMO S3 is the clear worst season so far

{S1,S2} >> {S4,S5} >>>>>> {S3}

Finally finished the season. It was ok, the first-half election drama was absurd, and FU just resigning without a fight was crazy. I still can't get over the idea of Claire going from a nobody non-profit director to VP to Pres. They alluded all season to Claire wanting to take power on her own, but I just don't get how Frank could allow her so much benefit of the doubt. And Usher being a VP? Apparently you don't need any political experience to hold office in HoC World.

The only end game here is FU getting busted for killing Zoe. Claire didn't pardon him for anything he's done, so maybe this comes back, although Doug is apparently taking the heat and the Herald is satisfied for now. Are we to assume his ankle bracelet means he's on bail awaiting a murder trial? I really have no idea what's going on anymore, and where they want to go with this show. Seems like they should just wrap all this up with one final season.

This has to have been said tongue in cheek.

Yea I'm kinda hoping this will be the case. Unlikely imo - you gotta figure that if S6 isn't their last, then as long as S7 in 2019 isn't complete AIDS, then they'll want to have another season air in 2020 to ride along with the US election.

An interesting endgame sure wouldve been nice

Completely different, though. Trump had political capital before he even started his campaign due to his prominence in American culture. Claire was a nobody and Usher is a behind the scenes kingmaker. Either of them going from nothing to Veep is absurd.

One of the best unintentional moments was when theyre all in the bunker. Doug calls Neve Campbell and she's like
"Wait, is something really happening?"

he shakes his head and quickly responds "Probably not"

He was the voice of the viewers in that moment.

Not really, iwbh. Basically I've always watched this for the plot, not much else. Though perhaps there are some moments from S1-S2 that I'm forgetting (it's been years...)

HOC falls into that 2nd tier category, good but you've forgotten all the sub plots by the time the new season comes around.

I can barely remember what the Rachel/Doug/Lisa sub plot is all about.

LeeAnn giving up her leverage made no sense. It was pretty clear who she was dealing with, as she is just as opportunistic as the rest. It makes no sense she would give up the only thing that got her back in the WH.

The way Seth got screwed at least made sense. Encourage him to perjure himself, then give him the boot. Now Seth has no moves that don't hurt himself more than the Underwoods. Unlike LeeAnn, Seth had no real leverage.

It looks set up that Doug is going to do some Skakespeare type move on himself with the letter opener.

Finished this last night, thought it was slightly more entertaining than last season's Petrov nonsense that dominated most of the season. Plot has gotten so ridiculous at this point, not sure how interested I'm going to be going forward.

It was funny how their writers predicted a few things that have happened under Trump.

They're currently filming season 6, which will be the last season.

At the moment there's one unsubstantiated claim from 30ish years ago. If a bunch more claims come out and Spacey becomes a sort of Weinstein figure, wtf do they do? There are options are i) Stop filming and write off season 5, ii) Stop filming and cobble together a truncated season 5 & iii) Immediately write out Spacey but produce a season 5 where Spacey only appears in the first few episodes (or not at all).

I still haven't watched Season 5.

But, House of Cards has been cancelled. Though, season 6 will be completed.
