And it was bad writing. Can someone explain to me how she found a major mob boss to come to him to plea for her husband? I could go with "she came back and we captured her" but not that. In general Barbara is such a horrible character.

She would be fine if this was on Showtime and got naked all the time.

That episode was pretty exceptional start to finish. This is turning from watchable to really good quickly.

Falcone's guy turning up at the station and taking over was awesome, also loved the notion of the cop on the run from the mob not being able to go to a hospital. The commissioner telling him to run because he is going to get murdered and no one not even her will help - which was true - summed up the state of the city well.

If something like this was the pilot people would be rating it so high from the start.

Ok so just to pile on. My wife hates this show and only watches it to keep me company, but she LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this ep.

I think this show became really good in the last two episodes. Penguin just absolutely owns this show. I would personally rename it "Gotham: The Rise of Penguin". Jada even stopped sucking in the last episode.

I would recommend this show to anyone, just based on the Penguin performance.

People who weren't with Arrow RIGHT at the beginning totally forget how good of a start Arrow got off to. This was a CW show. No one really took CW shows seriously, but Arrow made it possible for non-CW watchers to enjoy a CW show (I probably waited for about 3 or 4 weeks to give it a shot, when I was convinced it would be worth it, and it was).

I think Gotham is better than Arrow's start overall, but if you sat most who would be potentially interested in front of both, they'd watch both, and not dislike either.

Barbara apparently comes from a rich and connected family. It's hard to believe she wouldn't be able to figure out who's in charge in Gotham. Getting there is another story, but she certainly would be able to quickly find out where to go.

Plus he lives in a huge mansion, not some hidden underground bunker.

Good stuff, really stepped up.

That was a superb episode. Penguin is giving a GOAT performance. The Barbara story is a little boring but the show is really good.

The best part of downloading these episodes is fast-forwarding every single scene with Barbara. It's like they purposefully refused to write her a character.

I'm already preparing to groan myself to death when they pull the inevitable Penguin/Fish pun.
