No thread for this? wow.

I liked it without loving it. Seemed at the start they were trying to say "hey look it's a batman show, see how many batman characters we can reference". Second half got better. I'll give it a few more eps then decide if I want to continue.

Heard mixed stuff, but kinda liked it. They did annoyingly cram in as many characters as possible immediately, but the show has promise.

I dig the noir aesthetic.

Who are the villains to be referenced next week? Mr Freeze, Egg Head?

The big question is, is the comic that was performing for Fish gonna be the Joker, as some have speculated.

I enjoyed it a lot. Its a pilot, shows regularly change things after them and I expect them to not introduce another five or six major masked characters next week.

yeah i thought that as well, they put everything that might interest people in the trailer and they shouldnt keep it down our throat from now on.

A lot of amazing shows have had terrible pilots. It's just a way to hook dumbdumbs for ratings and then dumbdumbs never tune out

Could've lived without a thread for this show. I did like this pilot more than Arrow's, so maybe there's hope

I'm not familiar with all the characters, so can someone explain the Barbara character and the cop character? They were obviously saying that they had a "relationship", but I don't know anything more than that. Which characters are new for this universe? I got more of the winks than I expected, but doubt I got all of them.

There have been very few "new" characters introduced so far (I think Jada Pinkett Smith and her crew were the only new characters of any significance).

Barbara is Jim Gordon's wife. She's been around in the comics for a very long time though seldom a notable character.

Renee Montoya is an officer with major crimes. She is a major character in the Gotham Central comic book series upon which Gotham is loosely based along with a healthy dose of Batman: Year One (from the late 80's). Her being outed as a lesbian is a significant plot line in the comic. (This was published about 10 years ago). Any relationship with Barbara is new for this show.

I picked up a lot of the subtle and not so subtle references, but I didn't think about this. Interesting theory.
