I enjoyed it more when there were there less "super villains" and the mob had a bigger part of the story. In the first couple seasons, it just felt way more real. Which made sense to me. I wanted to see how "normal" people got along in Gotham. And seeing Harvey and Bollock solve crimes was great. But then it went into full fledged comic book mode with people with super powers, not staying dead, outlandish plots, etc. Which isn't bad, necessarily. I completely get it if someone doesn't like the show.
There are definitely some amazing moments, and most of the cast does a pretty decent job. "Evil" Lee I did not like at all, but but evil Barbara was pretty amazing. And Hugo Strange is an odd, weird little man that creeps me out.
Overall, I would rate it 6.5/10, with some individual episodes rating as high as 9.
I was on a tour of the grand canyon a couple weeks ago. There was a British family with us. When we sat down to eat we started talking about shows. We were discussing with the tour guide how GoT is the best show on tv right now and this British young (mid 20s) couple disagreed and said they've been hooked on Gotham and it is the best show on tv. They have apparently been binging it on Netflix. I can barely get thru an episode of this while on the computer and doing 4 other things at same time. Thought it was interesting though that this POS actually has a following.
