i dont understand Jessa. in the first episode i thought she was just moving into town and getting to know the girls. then it cut to her talking to one of them on the toilet, and now they went to college together?

So she went to college with them in America, moved away, moved back to live with her cousin hotbod weasel-face in the same building as her old college buddies? do i have this right?

I don't think they live in the same building, but I could be wrong.

Why the Marnie hate? I thought her actions were pretty understandable all episode.

Been with him for so long, obv wasn't going to immediately want to break up with him just because Hannah talked **** in her journal, but then when he's being a suffocating tool little bitch in bed again she's like lolyeah****this. I would have been way more mad at her for not breaking up with him after that.

really? there's a difference between not wanting to 'obv break up with him immediately' because hannah talked **** and going to his apartment and BEGGING him to stay with her. "please don't break up with me, PLEASE, I'LL DO ANYTHING"

Yeah but that's when he was cold and distant, but then when he was back to being his tool-self she was like oh yeah this still sucks.

It's obv not, like, uber moral but I don't think people should have a huge problem with it. Seems pretty standard for a break up

I guess for the momentum of the show and to have the payoff at the end of the episode, she needed to quit, and might as well blow it up into a big scene, but, yeah.
In his review Sepinwall suggested that she's doing everything in the name of material for her writing. That matches up with her inability to not ask Marnie about the quality of her writing during that first scene. I buy it, but they haven't laid much groundwork to really bring the audience into it.

The show is really well done, but I'm not sure how much tolerance I have for watching a really well done show about girls making terrible but somewhat low stakes choices. I might be up for 25 minutes of David Mamet's kid making goofy faces though.

HE IS WHO SHE THOUGHT HE WAS. She knew what she was in for, still pleaded and begged and broke him down enough to get him to say "fine we can try this again", then tore his heart in half once she was holding it in her hands. Real nice.

And all the while it's never even clear why she wanted to get back together with him. Both times he said "you're not in love with me anymore" she didn't really have a counter. So, why is she so desperate for him to take her back? Can't stomach being alone? Can't stomach being the one getting dumped? Grow a spine ffs.

that's just how girls can be though. Were you really surprised by her actions as they were happening on screen?

Surprised? No, but that doesn't mean she's not awful, just that some girls are predictably awful.

MY GF and I are both in the camp of really well done show but not sure I actually enjoy it all that much. Maybe it is the opposite of a show like "How to Make it in America" but living in NYC and seeing these archetypes do very NYC hipster things really seems to take the fun out of the show for me.

As I said, it is definitely well done and deserves some acclaim but not sure I am going to make it through the whole season.

I love this show. This episode was once again full of wtf's and lol's.

I think Marnie's actions are understandable. After the time they spent together, she got attached and there's a feeling of deep emptiness all the sudden. And, at the same time, the touchy-boring-cheesy guy she was fed up with turns into a distant badass who throws tables around. That's what she was looking for. But at the very moment they are back together, he gets back to being a touchy-boring-cheesy guy and she can't take it anymore.

Since the beginning of the serie, I can't help but cringe everytime Marnie's BF would be that annoying BF type of guy. Really awful. And right when they start having sex, I cringed again at every word coming out of his mouth. All between that, I liked him. So I guess that's a good justification for me to accept Marnie's decisions all around.

I didnt really get why Hannah all the sudden start "harrassing" her boss. Did she really want to have sex with him or was it just to have grounds to sue him later ? Maybe I missed something.

I hate the hippie girl more and more. She's the most awful. Would falcon punch a girl like that IRL to be honest.

Did she ever indicate that she was surprised/intrigued by his becoming angry or whatever when he broke up with her? I recall her just being like "wow I have to get him back" like it was just self-evident, not being like "wow I didn't think he had it in him" and getting all hot and bothered by her boyfriend finding his balls.

HE IS WHO SHE THOUGHT HE WAS.

(and yeah, Hannah propositioning her boss seemed to come from nowhere, esp after she was all like "oh me and Adam are together and exclusive now yayyyyy rainbows and unicorns!", but it was pretty funny regardless)

Well I took her trying to get him back as an indication that she was intrigued/surprised by him finding his balls. That was her whole problem with him since the start of the serie.

favorite moment of the show:
Hannah: You disgust me, you're pathetic...
BF: Oh yeah!?
*Hannah starts to take off her dress*
BF: What are you doing! That's not what this is.
*Hannah ceases undressing, rolls her eyes*

she's flawed, but I don't think she's terrible and awful. I feel bad for charlie, but come on, he should have figured out a long time ago that their relationship was ****ed.

you don't think she's a terrible person for begging and pleading for him to take her back just so she can dump him seconds later?

She's either a terrible person or just really ****ing stupid. I assume the former.

It's not plausible to me that she fell for his 'cold, badass side' hard enough to literally beg and beg for him to take her back.

Are we supposed to believe that Marnie actually thought this was a brand new and improved Charlie? lol.

She didn't want to be the girl who got dumped, that's all.

I mean he is, but that doesn't mean she isn't. He still doesn't deserve to be treated like she's treating him.

It's weird, because to me the show is being pretty obvious about how terrible Marnie and Jessa are, and yet I see viewers trying to apologize for them.
