The bit where she was with her laptop and I thought "huh, she's sitting fun- OH THAT'S WHAT SHE'S DOING" was pretty great. I think the best stuff about this ep was that Dunham's character managed to be more likable and yet still a pretty giant twit. Felt really well balanced.

Wow, Brian Williams has a really hot daughter.

Just watched the first couple eps, liked them both and maybe this will help me reach some understanding of women. Starting test: are we supposed to hate the British chick? Cause I do.

First EP was better imo, but this show has some potential. I thought I'd hate it, but Hanna is actually pretty funny and believable.

The job interview scene was pretty much perfect and i really loved how Dunham walked into her flat and just shrugged off her jacket and bag onto the floor right next to the table/chair/anything else they could have gone onto as it so strongly summed up how i saw her character.

Her going to the health clinic and getting a psychiatrist style realisation she doesnt fear AIDS but really wants to get it in a weird way while talking with her gyno was really strong too.

Im not sure i like the show, hell im not sure i even get it, but i like that all the characters are very strongly written and everything makes sense from what little we know of them.

I actually like Brian Williams's daughter as an actress so far. Thought her scene with the british chick in the bathroom in the first ep was well-acted. 2nd ep>>>>1st ep, hope it continues to get better

I think this episode had higher highs, but also had a lot more moments that were potentially show ruiners. Especially bad was that conversation about the ladies book, I really like the show's specificity, I feel the characters appeared broader in this episode than the pilot, for now I am fine with that because we are just getting to now them. In the pilot I was worried I would hate Zozia Mamet's performance, but I liked her in this ep.

+1 to both of these.

I'm really turned off by Hannah's **** buddy though. Is he supposed to be, like, the cliche 'cool, *******' guy. Idk why but I have a hard time believing him as that and it's making him seem like an even bigger douche/extremely unlikeable

Maybe I'm just prejudiced he doesn't have the look of the classic 'badboy' though.

Well at least now we know what this show is: a "realistic sex in the city for 20 somethings". Whatever. Episode was a lot better than the pilot but still not sure its entirely watchable. Interview scene and blow up was solid but the stirrup stuff was borderline turn off the tv time and you can only imagine that Hannah is going to get more and more neurotic for the sake of "comedy".

Maybe I'm completely out of it but do people in their early 20s really continually have awful sex with people they don't like who treat them poorly?

wat. the aids stuff was ****ing awesome and I'm sure plenty of young women stay in relationships with some douchebag that treats them like ****. Isn't that kind of the basis of that predatory "the game" ****?

I liked the pilot, but i really liked the 2nd episode. I didnt think I would enjoy it that much.

Last episode's AIDS scene at the doctor was very good. I loved her monologue and everything she talks about and how she puts it. Just perfect.

I dont really see the show as a comedy so far. Sometimes the awkwardness makes me laugh (ie: the end of the interview), but I can't label it yet.

Do I like any of the character ? It seems to be a real topic ITT. I'd say that I like the lead character, and her girlfriends, besides the hippie one.

I will definitly keep on watching this. It feels kinda refreshing to be honest.

He's supposed to be a giant douchebag. Honestly I find it slightly disturbing that somebody could see that character and think they were trying to position him as the least bit cool.

What about the part where he dirty-talks his rape fantasy involving Hannah as an 11-year-old junkie with a Cabbage Patch lunch box?

Oh wait yeah he is kind of a douche isn't he?

istewart: I just think this show is visually way different from even the first episodes of Louie, and the writing's much different too. Louie tries to get you inside his head, this show is not really trying that at all. This is structured like a more conventional show - the subject matter, the honesty of the characters, that's certainly like Louie so far, but I wasn't thrilled with some of the directorial choices here.

the narcissism is a bit grating - the characters all talk past each other. i understand that this is a comedic choice as well as being true to life, but it's hard to listen to. job interview was funny, but yeah, like someone else said, the scene with the doctor was near 'swingers-phone-call' level uncomfortable.

I think to think he's cool, you have to be a guy who thinks America Psycho is a classic piece of cinema at the same time as missing the point of the (overrated as ****) film.

Perhaps you just relate more to Louie then Hannah?

What do you mean by the doctor's office? Uncomfortable to watch? I didn't think so but I have a wife and 2 daughters... edit. I mean, you can't help if it makes you uncomfortable (if that's what you meant) but I think that's your own baggage, not a fault of the show.

Had nothing to do with the examination, had more to do with Hannah's rambling about how she wanted to get AIDS.

Oh ha, I thought that was gold. i can relate tho, I've had some dark days with mental health where I found myself wishing for a well known physical ailment so there would at least be no stigma. I'd prob pick something other then aids, though. :P

I see where you're going, but the fact is that David Benioff was arguably more successful from a career perspective than Amanda Peet before GoT, and almost certainly more so now. She's just way more famous (for the reasons you're jealous of him).

Random factoid: her sister was my advisor in grad school. really nice woman.

Looking at his wiki, I'd give Peet the win. The Wolverine movie is just sitting there, dragging him down.
