This season's been so amazing, SOTY potential imo.

not enough SHOSH for this to get a SOTY nod imo.

It seems to me the show has been in steady decline since the high water mark of episode 2.

What does adding a big subplot that culminates with Marnie's mom bombing in front of her friends add to our understanding or enjoyment? Adam's movie should have been the central focus, but probably we'll see more of it next ep.

I'm still optimistic that a couple of the final episodes will be fire.

yes to the steady decline over the last few episodes, but i don't need more of the adam movie subplot, i need more shosh, less desi, less marnie's family.

Have noticed no decline, I feel like every episode has been 10/10 except for the Marnie's mom subplot which was a bit weird yeah.

not that it means much, but avclub is onboard with it going downhill and the latest episode being pretty bad.

I started watching a few seasons ago and found the show and characters incredible. I generally laugh a lot. No point in watching from the beginning?

The show's been great from the beginning, for sure there's a point in watching from episode 1 season 1

I left out the part where I heard the first seasons were poor

This is even weirder. Sure, not everyone likes the show but the only way you could hear that the first seasons were poor is if you had no access to TV or the internet and the only people you talked to were culturally and intellectually stunted. Are you in jail or something?

you'd be surprised at the sophistication found in a correctional facility

You are right, it's not that I think the Adam movie subplot was so amazing it just seemed richer to explore than the rest of the stuff that was going on from this episode. There could have been a completely different idea that would have been more entertaining and hopefully there will be coming up.

For whatever reason Shosh had the nice Japan arc last season and she has been underrepresented this season. There are definitely strong Ray reunion undertones going on but I see her as more of a strong and independent woman at this point so I might prefer to see her find some professional success to end on.

Lots of choices left to be made about various directions, I think Lena will find a way to end strong and leave fitting conclusions.

This episode needed more Shosh and Ray. They are the most interesting characters to me. Elijah is awesome but this episode felt underwhelming.

Shosh has barely been featured during this entire season.

She offers to give it to him and then he finds out it isn't a white baby and refuses

I liked it. The restaurant scene with Ray, Shosh and Abigail was pretty good.

What's really funny is that I was thinking what would I do in that position if I'm that guy, and realized I'd probably just be like, "Yeaaah, I'm gonna head out" and turn down the offer. And then the show right after, Crashing, had a scene where that literally happened.

I must have spaced out or gotten distracted during last week's episode because I totally missed where Adam and Hannah came to the realization that it wasn't going to work. Spent this whole episode wondering where the hell he was.
