I haven't watched the US Skins, (and wont'). What I've read is that it's basically a really direct recreation of the UK version, which seems to be the worst choice possible.

I can tell from the casting they've already ****ed things up, also they went totally gutless and

Spoiler:
replaced the gay character with a lesbian, which kills one of the slightly interesting parts where Tony hooks up with Maxie on a lark.

I read the creators of UK Skins spent a while choosing writers for the US show and ended up getting 6 they're pleased with. Doesn't mean much, but I guess good writers will want to actually write new eps?

Looking forward to the deviation from original storyline most, but the characters of Cassie (now Caddie), Chris and Sid (now Stanley) are different and interesting although so far all I saw of the lesbian agrees with the above.

i'm curious how much they're being paid to appear on the show "as they risk it all" lolz.

none of the guys are particularly likeable. also i don't understand why they brought their kids - gz at the one having a seizure out in the wilderness.

YOU'RE ALL MILLIONAIRES YOU JUST HAVE TO GET IT OUT OF THE GROUND

I never really paid much attention to Frontline, but it is a damn good show.

Fairly Legal premieres this week and should be excellent for no other reason than it stars Sarah Shahi

Only 10 minutes in, and I am prepared to say Perfect Couples is terrible.

I thought Perfect Couples was ok, will def keep watching. Premiers are bad as a general rule, and it had enough one liners to get me to come back. I thought "you Seacrested me" was A+.

I did like the Seacrest line.

Turned off the Sarah Shahi show after the "she's right behind me, isn't she" cliche and other bad writing. Also, couldn't they set the show in Miami and have her mediate (or whatever she does) in a bikini?

It's definitely not that good, but I watched this entire episode and never felt the need to turn it off. It might just because of my lust for Sarah, which has been since 2003 and never fanned out. She's seriously been a top 3 GOAT for me for about 7 years.

I'm going to give it a few more episodes before I give up on it. I don't expect much at all, but a few USA shows have grown on me. Covert Affairs for instance. I thought the pilot was OK, but not so bad that I wouldn't give it a 2nd chance. It delivered well after that.

There were sporatic jokes in Perfect Couples that were ok. I love how they just went all-in on the guy's drinking, but most of it was pretty terrible. Seemed like it worked more as a 20 minute sketch and will be really strained to be a good show every week.

NBC wins though- because it's almost most work to not watch it inbetween Community/Office/P&R/30 Rock than not- and I'll stare and pretty girls and tolerate bad jokes for 30 minutes out of pure lazy.

I am still upset the The Whole Truth was axed. Amazing they make these shows have no promotion and expect them to suceed

I suspect it's more "we realize this show is terrible, we're not going to waste any more money on promotion, but we've got eps in the can and it's a sunk cost so let's throw it out there and see if a miracle happens and if not we'll shitcan it"

If the show looked at all interesting, I might feel more upset, but the world could do without any more legal dramas ever.

Yeah, The Whole Truth was pretty damn good for its genre.

2010 was a bad year for TV renewals, i cant think of a single new drama that got renewed and a few were pretty good and one was truly truly excellent.

Felt pretty similar to this, I'm going to watch the other 4 shows, and it's not like there is anything else on at 8:30 so unless this show becomes absolutely abysmal I'll probably continue to watch.

I actually liked the main couple a lot, the two side couples are just so incredibly over the top that it's kind of annoying. Wish Olivia Munn got the main girl instead of the crazy straightedge type, thought she did a decent job with the character, I just hate her character.

I think this particular Thursday was NBC's best in years. I don't remember the last time the Big 4 were as good as they were yesterday. There's always 1 or 2 stinkers.

I agree on to many legal dramas. But this was by far the best. It had absolutely no promotion while other shows that they promoted the heck out of "Undercovers" were destined to fail.

It was hilarious when the 15 year old kid next door came over to fix the equipment for them and they got all excited because a speck of gold dust came out of the filter. The kid was like "Uhh...you just paid $250K on this, I wouldn't get happy over $20 of gold."

Then of course the old guy saying that they probably found millions in gold because the top layer had a speck or two. I guess that's what praying does for you.

huh?

I imagine you mean drama that you watch; cause a lot of 2010 dramas got a second season.

2010 seasons 1 dramas I watched that got renewed: Treme, Boardwalk Empire, Walking Dead, Justified. (Also, Men of a Certain Age though that premiered Dec 09)

Season 1 dramas I watched that didn't: Terriers and Rubicon.

So that's not too bad I guess, it sucks that Terriers got bumped obv, but the renewals outnumber cancellations 2:1 so I can't really say it was a bad year for renewals.

I also downloaded Spartacus on a friend's rec., haven't watched it yet, but it got renewed fwiw.
