Finally got to the 2nd episode of Big Little Lies...it was excellent...Adam Scott telling Nathan the story of being bullied was incredible. Had no idea Adam Scott was actually a good actor!

Definitely liking this...

tons of comedians are really excellent actors. its a strange phenomenon.

sarah silverman just made a dramatic movie that she is supposedly really good in. i haven't seen it, but i wouldn't be a bit surprised if she is great.

Does anyone else watch the MTV show stranded with a million dollars? I've never been more tilted by someone's idiocy on a game show as I have been watching this

Spoiler:
This dude seriously is just burning money. Like, literally burned money.
As in built a fire and put money in it. And it went up in smoke.
I have an acquaintance who was on the show. I've only watched the first episode but he told me that it was truly crazy and he enjoyed the experience.

This guy was a camper and an acquaintance. He is a good guy and really different from the tv portrayal.

Just got into Catastrophe. Only through the first season (6 eps.), but think it's great so far, and supposedly it just gets better.

Surprised it doesn't get more love on here. I think it would really appeal to the folk who enjoy You're the Worst and/or Fleabag.

This show definitely needs more love.

most of the kids irritate me more each episode. im pretty sure they are trying to portray jimmy as the bad guy but I like him the most

I don't think it's a strange phenomenon, it's really a part of what they do on stage basically every single night, and probably the least difficult part. I have a lot of respect for any decent comedian.

Tony Randall once said comedy is the most serious acting you can do.

Also, let's be honest, acting is pretty easy. Almost anyone can be good with some practice and good support.

You don't have to look any farther than the rampant nepotism in Hollywood. It's more about getting the opportunity than skill.

are there really more second genners in acting than in sports? or whatever other walk of life?

i don't want to hijack the thread, but im an actor. i see zillions of people work there asses off, but just don't have the talent... same as in sports.

Been watching this all day and love it so much. Imagine if Lord of the Flies was a reality TV show full of over-privileged snowflake millennials. The leader Jimmy is like a conman (non-cultist) Jim Jones who makes me feel like I'm watching an episode of American Greed in real-time. If you like watching millenials fail you will enjoy this show.

Through 7 episodes of Big Little Lies, and I'm amazed at how nuanced and perfectly written it is. The editing, music, and directing is also outstanding. Nicole Kidman is a revelation...I knew she was good, but holy cow.
