did not enjoy the good place. it got good reviews but I only got about 50 min through (out of 1:30 between the first 3 episodes). it was too much for me - don't need a whole show about someone trying to be a good person

I have liked The Good Place so far. The concept is a little more than someone trying to be a good person. Not sure how invested I am. I like Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. Jameela Jamil is the main thing that I could see me dropping the show. NBC on demand is one of the least painful to watch also.

New MacGyver didn't do much for me. Hoped that it would have a bit more of the old MacGyver feel with some cockiness of youth. It just felt like every other bad tech show to me. I'll give it a few more episodes, but I don't see it staying.

The Exorcist on the other hand I really enjoyed.

Showtime Renews Dice. I liked it.
FX Renews Atlanta. Easy renewal.
Better Things Renewed For Season 2. Not very funny.

I can't stand Transparent season 3, really have grown to hate all these characters so much. Season 1 was so much better, it's just one-note propaganda now. The hipster lesbian poet is especially bad.

Wow, I'm watching Pitch and after the first 20 minutes I can comfortably say that is is embarrassingly bad. Whose idea was it to give Ali Larter actual lines in a TV show?

Interesting. I read from several places Pitch might be the best new show this fall. I decided to pass either way.

Joe Swanberg's Easy on Netflix is an enjoyable 4-hour binge watch. It's like Love but with more sex, better actors, and more compelling stories.

i like joe, and like the show, but it's definitely not as good as Love imo.

woody allen's new show is out tomorrow. bad reviews.

Any other reviews on these shows?I'm scared to start any show on basic cable as I feel like 99% of them get canceled or end before completing the story, but both of these shows piqued my interest, especially The Exorcist as I am a horror buff. I just can't imagine they could make a good horror show on basic cable.

Haven't seen either, but Designated Survivor got off to a great ratings start, and The Exorcist's ratings were pretty much a disaster. If you were choosing solely based on the starting episode ratings, the pick (after week 1) is Designated Survivor.

pitch was way better than i expected, i guess everyone in this thread is backwards thinking, backwards cap wearing, male pattern baldness hiding men!

i was pretty surprised by how good zack morris was. i thought he did some legit good acting. some of his lines were pretty cringeworthy though.

I thought PITCH was amazing. Easily the best pilot of the fall. Great casting, strong acting and lot's of ass slapping (and tapping).

MPG already in the emmy conversation.

Pitch will probably be one of the 1st shows to get pitched.

FOX lets everything run the initial 13, so it likely won't be. Notorious will probably be the first show to go. Scream Queens and Rosewood are currently the lowest rated shows on the big 4 networks. Nothing else is in immediate danger, and if Pitch pulls anything decent in L+3 (1.5 or so) or L+7 (1.7 or so), it will probably be retained, unless it has a big drop this week. It still won't matter, because FOX doesn't pull anything in the fall, ever.

lethal weapon

im having a great time watching it. it's silly, obviously, and ridiculously fake. but the leads are good. they have a nice relationship. wayans is funny.

Here's a post I made in a Lounge TV thread; I'm trying to be an evangelist for Penny Dreadful, although s3 continues to disappoint now just two eps away from the finale:

All that being said, I'm not enjoying s3 much a few episodes in.
Despite my disappointment over s3, s1 and s2 are so good I still think the show is well worth checking out.

I enjoyed pitch, designated survivor and bull.

I dunno how you're possibly keeping pitch interesting for more than like ten weeks though - the gimmick will ruin out quick.

Bull, on the other hand, I wish was more in depth wrt its profiling. The last episode it was blatantly clear what was going on with the pilot. However, both episodes had that "wait wtf omg how did I miss that" twist I enjoyed.
