fantasy stuff in this doesn't bother me at all, i knew it was going to be more like LOTR than braveheart. but cliche lazy deus ex machina crap like tywin just happening to show up at the exact time gendry is about to get tortured and tyrion just happening to show up at the exact time sansa is about to get hit does bother me. and a fart joke, really? maybe my expectations are off, but cum and fart jokes just seem out of place within the show.

Agree. If it ends up dragons vs. pussy monsters vs. white walkers vs. wolves vs. whatever we haven't seen yet it would be bad news for those not packing some fantasy heat, and possibly disappointing as well. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where the family agrees to face off in a doubles tennis match only to replace themselves with Sampras, Agassi, and the Williams sisters.

Also, the scene at the gates of Qarth was excellent.
